Any progress adding games to HS?

Sorry but been rly busy lately RL stuff. Sry if i missed this but with the new releases of stuff has anything been added yet to add games to HS easier than manually doing it? I still manually add them 1 by 1....which is a pain

Ya we did away with that, you can just keep a master list and set theme_only = true on a per emu basis

Its not an option in HQ yet since HQ isnt done, but make sure you have the lates version of HS, run it at least once, then open mame.ini, under the themes section, you see an option themes_only = false, set that to true. Then you can have a full mame.xml file in your database folder but only themes you have will show.

Nope...its a new line item in the settings file. You can download the latest release and check it out. Lots of new fixes and features.

weird...im not sure if i did it wrong.

I had my existing HS install b4 the new release. I downloaded the new version of HS. Extracted it to a "different" folder. Took JUST the HS.exe and copied it into my pre-exisiting HS folder. And the ran it.....weird thing is none of the themes i've installed over the last month even show up. only the themes that came with the Original base install from the torrent are there


i just ran a fresh install of the new HS .exe and looked at the settings.ini and still don't see that setting u r talking about. is it because no themes are installed?

just taking the new HS.exe and throwing in into your old HS folder definitely doesn't work....i'm having numerous problems.

Are there more detailed instructions how to use the new HS.exe with an existing install of HS?

Well first of all I said open mame.ini, not settings.ini so that explains why you dont see the setting Im talking about, themes_only = true is on a per emu basis, meaning its not a global setting, you can have mame show only themes, yet another system show all games.

thx...I don't know what you mean by taking the new HyperSpin.exe into your old HS folder not working. I did this on both my testing computer install and then on my cabinet. I have not noticed a single issue on neither machine and I had full installs of all themes including some new themes that have not been approved yet. Every theme appeared correctly except for one and that one is because that specific game is missing in my full 127.u6 XML for some reason.
