I cannot get the new version of HS to work at all with my old install. I mean it works, but its all messed up.

I tried 3 different things.

1) Take the new HS .exe and just copy over the old one. Really messed things up.

2) Installed the new HS and then copied over some of the relevant folders over from my old install. Still really messed up

3) this is the one i dont get----this time i installed the new HS. Then i took the "clean and untouched" install files form the original bitorrent HS release and JUST copied over JUST the Media folder to the new HS release folder. Still messed up. Like videos all out of whack, games not showing u in the wheel, etc etc. Specifically MAME seems to be rly messed up.

Did I miss something? Or are there instructions I missed out on how to use the new install? I find it hard to believe I'm the only one who ran into a problem? :(
My #3 attempt rly confuses me because i just copied over the original HS bit torrent media folder into the new HS installer. All they are are themes and graphics. But even that didn;'t even work...

Thanks

Games are not showing up on the wheel most likely because obviously we dont have themes for every game yet. So I can agree that your not seeing stuff for every game. On a fresh install of a new HS it now includes a full mame.xml , themes_only might be set to false, so you could check that to true to only see themes. This is normal. Some people want to see all games wheter theres a theme or not. Some people only want to see themes. Its a matter of personal taste.

If your getting funky results then its most likely something in your settings file or a database issue. If videos and artworks seem like they are out of wack, thats because the default settings are generic for video and art placement for games
without themes, you can adjust those to your liking in mame.ini. If you want the video to be in a certain area just set the x and y coordinates of where you want the videos to show up. Again this is a matter of personal taste on what you like to see.

Basically when a game doesnt have a theme made, then it defaults to the ini file to get settings. The default settings are should be set by you to get what you want for games that dont have themes made.
But when a game does have a theme that means a user that made that theme is defining the position of everythign on the screen for you but only for that game.
