hopefully someone has encountered this and there is a simple fix.
I have hyperspin running on XP and it exits normally from mame back to hyperspin. when I am running nestopia, everything loads and runs fine but when I exit, I get a black screen rather than being taken back to hyperspin. There is noting in my log that suggests this is a hyperspin issue, so I am assuming it is a windows issue. If I pull up my task manager and select 'switch to' for hyperspin, it will go back to hyperspin.
is there a way to make this exit work more smoothly?:banghead:
are you using HyperLaunch?

I just added hyperlaunch and it is much better. It still flashes to windows briefly but at least I don't have to pull out the keyboard. thanks!

Reminds me, I need to fix this tonight as well. ;)
Also, with Nestopia... You can configure the EXIT key in the key configs. Just set it to ESC or whatever you have set. I use Nestopia in HS without HyperLaunch and it works fine even on exit.

this was true for me on my vista pc, but not on the xp rig in my cabinet. it was def. some kind of windows issue but hyperlaunch fixed it.

When I use hyper launch and try to exit from nestopia my screen gets minimized to half the size and when I dont use hyper launch the emulator doesn't work at all. I already tried mapping the exit key to something else in nestopia but the same thing happens.

Try running everything at the same resolution, desktop, HS, etc..

worked. Thanks. Now if only I can get ctrmamepro or romcenter to notice my goodtools romset for renaming I would be set...

im having this same problem but only with sega saturn. Only SSF wont change it to the same resolution I run everything else in. What do you mean use hyperlaunch or is this to old information and theres a better fix for exiting an emulator without getting that black screen?
nm fixed. It was a hyperlaunch script issue. Hyperspin was not regaining focus when exiting. I found one that worked and all is well d:D
