Sadly, I do not use Mini-ITX, but I do use a Micro-ATX board with an Intel Quad Core Q6600 and 4GB RAM, with a GeForce 8800 GTS 512 (G92 version)....
The Biostar G31-M7G DVI

also this is the HyperPIN forums area, not the Hyperspin area. Most of our PC's are just for dedicated cab builds.

Wow nice PC to run HS..Thanks that gave me a great starting point. The reason why im going the ITX route is because i have an ITX case. The cabinet has enough room only to fit an ITX mini case. Do you think a Micro ATX mobo will fit a ITX mini case?(here is a link of the case)

If you are mounting inside a cabinet, a case isn't really needed. I get by from using PCB Mounting feet and a few small little shelves that I sit the HDD's and Power Supply on.
PCB Mounting Feet (example):

[edit]
For my video card, the pcb feet stand the motherboard from the cabinet enough so the metal bracket doesn't clash. I also use a few stands that "clamp" the corners of the card to force it to stay straight and steady while not inhibiting air-flow or causing damage to the card.

When I was doing my build I found it to be less of a headache to just get a case. I snagged a cheap $30 case from newegg. With the case I was able to easily work on the PC before putting it into the cabinet and didn't have to worry about how to mount all the different components (motherboard, power supply, hard drives, etc). When the cabinet was done being built I could just pop the case right in and I was off..
Just offering a different opinion though. Having a caseless PC in your cab is pretty pimp.

I would have to agree with the pomme on this one....I started out trying to accomplish my PC build w/o a case, and even though it worked, it was a pain in the arse, and I ended doing exactly as he did. Grabbed a cheap antec 300 from best buy(40-50 bucks) and now I like it much better. Much easier to work on as well.
No Case is pimp, I would agree, but for me, it just didn't work out.

why limit yourself to dreamcast?
Check this guide out, it's dated but gives you a good idea of what you need for emulation that's current.
This is the "budget built" check out the link for more suggestions. It's a little dated, but gives some good suggestions. You should also consider the cost of the OS and monitor and keyboard (if you already have this stuff then you're good)
BUDGET BUILD ~$445
Highlight of this build is the possibility to unlock 2 additional cores from the 550, giving you a $100 Quad Core PC that can overclock to 4GHz. Keep an eye out for mail in rebates! The CORSAIR RAM is known to FREQUENTLY go on sale for around $25!
Processor: AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition $99
Motherboard: BIOSTAR TFORCE TA790GX 128M $109
RAM: CORSAIR TWIN2X4096-6400C5 $46
Graphics Card: Radeon 4850 (any brand) $99
Case: Cooler Master Centurion 5 Black $20
Power Supply: Thermaltake TR2 W0070RUC 430W $35
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 160GB $39

by the way, i bough a cooler master case.. makes building a snap, but man, it's huge! The cool thing about the one I bought is that you can connect it has an hdd dock on top, for quick and easy backups. I bought it for about 80 bucks from newegg. Just make sure you have enough room in your cab. I do agree with the guys, if you never plan on taking it out of your cab.. then do it without a case.

Thank you all I'm going to have to agree we the other people on this thread. Thanks LasHek for the case-less mobo idea but I where am I going to put the power button and my cabinet does not have room for a keyboard nor mouse. I have only room for the x-arcade dual controller I did find a ItX mobo that has a onboard 9600 nvida video chip set. Will this mobo have enough power to run all my emulators and videos without being choppy?

Here is a pic of my cabinet as you can see i have no room for anything bigger then an ITX case.
Here is a motherboard and CPU Ive been looking at, I'm also curious will this run Hyper-Spin and COD black OPS with out being choppy?

Thanks its a work in process. I'm limited to to very little room. I'm torn on what Mini ITX motherboard to get. I thinking if i should go with a onboard video chip-set or installing a Video card. Thats where I'm stuck at :stupid:
