FYI, I am currently working on an Updated SNES video set using the current no-intro naming convention, most have been re-edited and over 300 are being replaced. I hope to be done shortly I have 400 done so far, they are in the WIP folder of the ftp if anyone needs them, I am also updated all artwork sets at the same time.

Ok, I have this flv conversion thing down, I will be uploading the SNES FLV's in conjunction with the new files in the WIP folders. Hey if I do enough you will have to hook me up with one of those hyperspin shirts.. "I want to join!" :D

Funny so wrapped up in getting videos finished, I haven't played with software like I wanted to.

I can get you a shirt if they had a Shirtique out here, but since your doing flv's thats enough for me for you to be HS.

Im curios to see the output with the light smoothing filter, what does that actually do?

some people even stick stuff like that in the top rack of the dishwasher(motherboards even) and then let them dry for a good while, sometimes even baking in the oven at like 150 degrees for a while.

I personally haven't but I've read of it many, many times.

Since the set that I am starting with is SQ instead of HiQ like the MAME set there is some pixelation in the video (Not so much an issue with the newest sets (NES) but much of the SNES set is over 2 years old and I did things much differently back then).

So the filter seems to really kill alot of the pixelation without getting fogy on the video. I will let you know when the first batch of 390 is uploaded. Shouldnt be too long now.

EDIT: filter created artifacts, went with a 1x blur, not so much for fullscreen but great in preview window. For full screen you really need HiQ vids. But I am willing to bet that it will work great. I think one of my members is working on a HiQ SNES set but thats going to be awhile. In the meantime if someone needs a higher quality vid for a theme, just let me know and I will make it.

Guys,

I just started uploading SNES Hyperspin videos to the EmuMovies FTP in the WIP folder. Let me know if they are up to standards.

Cool, will check em out tonight, are these vids based on the latest no intro dat for SNES? or off an older set you did?

Circo
07-24-2008, 05:08 PM
Lastest no-intro, it's more of a rename, audit and replace job. It's based on the old set but videos are edited to meet what are now my standards over at emumovies, as well new naming convention. All artwork sets are being updated converted as well. But the old SNES set had some holes and issues which is why close to 300 vids are being replaced. I am at the 50% mark so not too bad.

hey quick question. circo said he is converting the video files to flv. does hyperspin support the other emu movies sets? or will they have to be converted to flv files as well?

Circo
07-25-2008, 11:44 AM
I am going through the sets one at a time, updating naming to latest no intro and filling in any blanks and converting. So yes all sets need to be converted, the plus side for non-hyperspin users is that the existing sets will also all be updated.

Because of the effects, transitions, etc hyperspin does not work with the older avi's.

I bet we will eventually start seeing more and more FE's switch over to .flv once they see what they can do. Not to mention .flv file size is a little smaller than .avi without much quality loss. It just makes sense...

circo was talking about his keyboard having amp spilled into it. I was mentioning that some people use the dishwasher as a way to clean stuff like that(as crazy as that sounds).
