I have no idea why I never thought of this earlier but this feature is going to save many lives.
Due to the way our wheel and database system works custom wheel set makers have to try and keep up with their custom wheel sets to match our database.
This is no longer the case. Custom wheel makers merely need to share their background planks and you stick them in a folder and instantly all of your wheel sets are custom.
HS will automatically fit your base wheel image sets into the planks. You also have an extra padding option in your settings file to fine tune how the wheel image fits into your planks.
This will save custom wheel makers hours of photoshopping and wheel set maintaining because they will no longer need to maintain sets. Just share your backgrounds and your good to go.
Custom wheel sets are always behind the official wheel image releases so your lucky to see timely updates. This is no longer the case.
Also custom sets that dont exist are now easily created instantly.
Another big advantage is that your wheel images are perfectly fixed into the planks per your settings because its done by the program not in photoshop.
This feature is for when you use a common background across all images. If you want each wheel to have its own individual wheel style plank, then you'll still have to make those individually, i.e Main Menu. This is just an example image.

Nice idea, this will be great for everyone who likes to use custom wheels. And their makers as well of course.

By the way, the option to have an image on top of the wheel (hilight) would also be nice.

BBB this is great - but how does it handle overflow - for example the "A" on the Atari5200 looks like it's out of the frame.
Great idea, can't believe this wasn't though of before.

Theres a setting I added to the settings file called background_padding , in this case its set to 60, if I bump it to maybe 65 or 70 then the a will fit. You just have to tweek your settings to your liking. It just depends on the images you use for the backgrounds that will make you have to change that number.

This is very cool. Nice, thanks. (I've been trying to stay away till 2.0) No need in having the better half complain about me working on the Arcade until I have to. :)

then the "AUTO KUSTOM" would cease to be useful?
BadBoyBill

Depends on what you use it for, didnt it do carts and things like that and random images? HS only adds a background and overlay. I think your software is useful, the problem is the wheel creators have to keep up with the databases on a constant basis which I dont see happening, some have told me they are a little burnt out on keeping up. So this eliminates that.

I think anything that can add a layer of customization for people to use will always be useful.

Is it just me or does that first postpic displaying wheel art look really hi-quality.. must get up to speed with the latest hyperspin 2.0 coming out but are the graphics much more enhanced. The Press start graphic and all other text looks smoother and nicer?
I cannot wait any longer!

Will there be any change in the layering position of the wheel in relation to other theme layers? Currently when the wheel is activated it shows above all other layers. Any possible option to either keep the wheel below certain artwork layers, or to have 1 or 2 artwork layers have the ability to continue to show above the wheel art even when activated?
May seem like an odd Q, but im just trying to figure out a theme idea I had.
Maybe keep wheel on top by default unless otherwise specified by the theme. It would be very sweet if one could put the wheel & vid on top/between/underneath layers independently for every theme.

Perhaps this has been mentioned but how about having the wheel menu fade out completely. That way you see the theme in all its glory. As soon as you interact, the wheel fades back in.

This is already possible. HyperHQ>Wheel Settings>(has to be done for every system/wheel)>set Alpha slider to 0

Hi BBB,
Have you thought of a menu system where you could have the Genre's or Systems, be the vertical bar and the games be the horizontal within the vertical as per the attached interface. I think that will be neat feature to add to your amazing app.

Though this probably won't ever happen, like browser's suggestion, but it would be cool to have two wheels, one with wheels, the other with boxes. And if opposite of each other it would be nice if they would spin the opposite direction.
Maybe for 3.0 in a year or two :D

The proposal is good
but the more graphics you need more resources
Hey Bill, will it be possible to have wheels not overlapping each other, but touching. So I can do seamless wheels for an htpc theme like this?
