View Full Version : having problems cutting out images in photoshop

hi im having problems with cutting out images in photoshop ive watch the tutorials above , im stuck on when using the pen tool . when i get a path together i make a new selection so the part of the image is highlighted like when using the magic wond . but the image i drew around doesnt appear on the layer below :banghead:

Looks like that layer is hidden. You need to click the eye icon next to the layer in the layers tab. I think that is what you are talking about. Also, I see a couple of shape layers there. I forgot to add to my pen tutorial. When you select the pen tool, you need to make sure you select the path button in the options palette. It is the horizontal palette that sits above your toolbar and document. I attached a picture for reference.

Hrm...not sure what the problem is. Are you trying to copy that part of the selection? If so you need to make sure you have the proper layer selected. In your video, you have the blank layer selected.

hi got it sorted cheers 4 the help ctrl & j worked for me . heres a pic of a cut out theme ive done not great but good i can now cut out pictures from other images i want :) thank you!
