NEStalgia is an original MORPG inspired by the glory days of traditional console RPGs. Essentially "Dragon Warrior 3 meets World of Warcraft", NEStalgia is an amalgam of the best generations of RPG gaming. Wage classic turn based battles using a multiplayer party system, and enjoy modern trappings such as a full-featured quest system and hordes of epic loot to find. We even have a WoW-style Auction House for item trading!

sweet sounds awesome
Looks great, going to try it later. If anyone else is playing, let me know what server you choose.

BYOND.... I remember those days. Unless they've hanged, you'll have a hideous BYOND UI with the graphics window.
I wonder if my developer demo's are still there, some of them were at the top of the charts for a while, but are probably grossly outdated by now.

Yup!

UI is fine, not fond of how you have to visit a website to choose your server, should be built into the game itself. If anyone is wondering how they get money out of ya, 4 classes are free, the other 4 you have to be a premium member.
The major drawbacks I experienced:
Control is with a kb/mouse combo, for a game that looks like dragon warrior, this ruins the feel of an old 8-bit game. You have to move your right hand to the keyboard to move and to the mouse for battle... Each attack you have to click the creature you want to hit, this gets annoying after 1 battle.
Lag is horrendous and makes it very frustrating while traveling. Server only had 20 characters and the screen would lock up for about 2 seconds every 5 seconds. Then your character would repop where it should be. Either code is horrendous or they have the worst servers ever. Older characters were shouting trying to get new players to switch to less popular server.

The issue is that there is usually no "dedicated" server, per se. They are generally regular peoples computers hosting the worlds. I wouldn't classify it as MMO, but rather, just Multiplayer Online.
The servers that are dedicated usually aren't much better as BYOND was never built for MMO's, it was mainly for basic games with some friends. The HUD / Interface elements were usually cheap hacks to get them working, but I'm unsure of how things are today as it's been quite a while since I last participated in the BYOND universe.
