it point to hyperspin\database\(ConsoleName)\(ConsoleName).xml

And im glad that work for most of your console but yes my application is for sure not bugproof so i would be very happy if you can post your xml of the console that dosent work, like this i will be able to find the trouble and provide a newer version !

Sorry but i didnt try with hyperpin because i dont use it but i honestly dont think so. may be i will add support of hyperpin in further version !

very cool program. I thought for sure it was going to take forever to scan my folder since i have almost 50 systems setup on it. It actually did not take very long at all to complete.

My setup is a portalable hyperspin that runs off a USB drive with lots of relative paths. It had trouble finding all my videos which is weird cause all my videos work fine.

I notice my path is for most of my videos is .\HyperSpin\Media\Sega 32X\Video\ which i agree should probably be .\Media\Sega 32X\Video\ and would allow the application to see my videos. Funny how hyperspin works with either path.

If anything this program works great to help me find these kinds of inconsistencies.

One bug i did notice was that it said i had 18 Sega genesis roms missing even though i had them. I guess the &amp is throwing it off. As this was my missing list.

18 Roms Missing !

edit: Roger Clemons was corrected in the database from clemonts but my rom was still named clemonts. heh nice to catch that.

I even noticed that one of my systems showed all my roms missing even though i had some and i found out it was because i forgot to set the extension type. =P Well I have not tested every system since i updated all my roms lists.

Anyway Great program. This will help me clean up my mess in my ini files and maybe organize what i should focus on next.

Thank you dred for this ! i will update my application soon for the &amp bug and you make me think that i did not implemented the relative path support so another thing in my next version ! If anybody else with other trouble post it please !!!

I think the relative path stuff is working cause my roms are set to .\roms\sega genesis and the only roms it reported missing were the &amp ones.

This is a fantastic app, I love that each system is in it's own text file, I am currently working my way through all the XMLs that have been marked Final in Hyperlist.

One problem I'm having is that Super Nintendo Entertainment System isn't showing up on the list (and MAME, but someone else has mentioned that one). I have checked my paths on my computer to see that they are going to D:\Hyperspin\database\Super Nintendo Entertainment System\Super Nintendo Entertainment System.xml but I can't seem to get it to work. Do you have any advice on what could be wrong?

Ok i will have a look at it but tell me, your xml files for snes, is it from hyperlist or another source. because i tested it on 3 different hyperspin and never had this trouble. but i will check this out very soon !

I downloaded the XML directly from Hyperlist. I have only downloaded the latest XML for SNES and NES and using older XMLs for the other systems. I just tried the scan with a fresh hyperspin in a different directory and only MAME didn't show up, so SNES is back again even when I copied the new XML from Hyperlist.

I just removed the SNES and MAME from the main menu using the wizard (using the 1st option as to not lose all my media) and added them back again and they seem to work fine now. I don't know what was wrong/different with the previous setup, quite a noodle scratcher.

I'm sorry for any hassles I may have caused, it's a fantastic app and I think it can solve my procrastination of finalizing my roms/artwork/videos.

This mean that there is no ini files in \hyperspin\settings\ so check if you give the good hyperspin path !

I think your program is great but I have a feature request and I don't think it should be too hard, but it will make your program I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BUTTER awesome.

What I would like to see is an automatic file renaming feature.

Ideally the program looks at my game folder file list or XML document, and then I choose another folder, either the artwork or wheel art or video folder.

It will compare the two. When the first few characters of file names (but not the whole file name) match in both folders, the program can then ask me if I want to rename that file to match the game or XML.

If I say yes then it does renaming automatically. Renaming a whole folder wheel art etc will then take only a couple minutes.

It could be that you just implement a generic FOLDER A to FOLDER B comparison/pattern match/rename. That would be even better, actually.

You really will have the ultimate if you can get this working? Please and Thank you!

Is it possible to point the xml to a specific folder to look for the roms?

I have all of my roms in the following folder structure:

HyperSpin\RomFiles\Mame
etc....


So when it checks for MAME roms it says I have none of them because it is looking in the roms folder under the mame install

I am not sure to understand very well, but if that can help you i made a little application before this one that does what you are looking for.

I will take a look at the other app you mentioned.

The issue I have is that my mame roms are not installed in the roms folder underneath the mame install folder.

I do not see anywhere in the app that we can specify the rom location so when the app searches for the roms it will b able to properly find them.

This app is really helpful, I just have one problem with it. I don't keep my videos in the hyperspin folder, could you have the program read the ini file to get the location of the videos.

And secondly could you add the ability to choose which system to scan for instead of doing all of them at once.

metalthrix. This is a great app. could you confirm with systems this works for as i have a lot that it wont register anything, im tying to check my Atari ST and Commodore Amiga sets but it wont pick them up, is there anyway i can make it compare against the database.

hi first of all this app is incredible but a lil hard to setup my problem is the data base always has errors when you add the new system. Apart from that i also have a problem with the roms every time i setup the program and where to find the roms for each of those systems it still says cant find it even so i set it right, Also im having trouble with my game listing and even when my genesis program was opening up it wont load the game straight off it keeps making me choose it manually how can that problem be sorted. Please can somebody help me out here thx.

This will be very helpful in checking Neo Geo, capcom, cave, nintendo arcade or any other systems that run off mame roms to the most recent MAME database. As if updating mame wasn't a task in itself, it sucks trying to figure out what roms have to been renamed for neo geo & the like

Awesome App, love it, but would it be possible to search the rom folders recursively, the reason I ask is I have my SegaCD games each in an individual folder and the app does not detect them, may be worth checking the Hyperspin settings to see if the recursive option is enabled and adapt the search accordingly..
