hi,
are there any plans of an "no wheel" option? (or is there already a possibility to turn off the wheel? - shame on me, if so - "alpha = zero" is no option)
personally i don't need a wheel - because the name of the game is on the theme already and without the wheel, the screen looks "cleaner".
but anyway, the best and ONLY frontend out there - AMAZING WORK
greets
Norm
ps.: how can i get rid of this annoying "current genre: ..." line?

In HyperHQ, go to the "Wheel Settings" tab and pick your emulator/wheel that you want to change. Then click on the "Wheel" tab. Move the alpha slider to 0. This will make the wheel disappear when you land on a theme.
To get rid of the genre line, uncheck the "Special Artwork C" box on the "Special Art" tab.

How would you know where you are when spinning the wheel? Or do you always want to pick a game blindly?
Edit: Ok, so just for fun, I figured it out. Set the wheel to vertical and make the small wheel = "0" and large wheel = "1." (when I set the large to "0" the wheel wouldn't move up and down sometimes) To get rid of the wheel pointer, delete the "pointer.png" image from the other media folder. (Ex: for mame C:\Hyperspin\Media\MAME\Images\Other)

hi, again, thank you very much - the idea is, to select a game only by scrolling through the themes (the game name is on the theme anyway), so every theme looks like a "titel screen" - you know what i mean?.
i know, i can get the same effect with alpha=zero, but by touching the stick, the wheel would show up again and "destroys" the illusion :D.
and because i only use mame in my cab, it would be pretty nice having just the themes on screen (specially when the themes change randomly after a while).
sorry for my bad english, i hope you understand what i think of.
thank you
Norm
ps.: i've tried it, and it works perfectly - one last thing, do you know how i can get rid of the rom-name shown on screen?
pps.: maybe "wheel on/off" could be an option in the next release, if it's not too much work.

To remove text info, make the following change to the settings file (ex: C:\Hyperspin\Settings\MAME.ini)
[Game Text]
game_text_active = false
