Here is my first go at a theme, Discs of Tron. Certainly not the most popular mame title out there (Need's a push-pull spinner), but one that I love the artwork for.
I just need to finish the animations, which since I lack Flash, will probably have to wait until I get my dirty little paws on HT. I tried to crib theme coding from some of the existing themes, but not surprisingly, it was an Epic Fail.
Anyway, have a look, and comments are always appreciated.

I like the colors! The artwork1 )discs of tron could be a little bigger. I know Bill like Big Bubbly overlapping pics.
But awesome work!
Very nice. The artwork looks nice and clean. Not bad at all for a first theme.
Now only if there was a good push/pull spinner solution.... Now only if I can get my Oscar Spinner working. :(

Excellent!
I love Tron artwork too, in fact I think Discs of Tron enviromental cabinet is the single most beautiful cabinet of all time just edging out Star Wars cockpit.
What animations were you planning?

Thanks for the quick response guys.
The Logo can definitely be increased in size, as I have everything in .PSD format from the rasterized vectors that were my source for this. SO no worrys about things getting too aliased if I tweak them.
I too love the artwork for this game, and completely agree that the enviornmental cab is one of the coolest looking out there. Funny thing is, I completely stink at this game.
Excellent!

Well, to be honest I'm not sure about what HT will allow me to do out of the box, so I may need to just bite the bullet and get flash, since some of the ideas I have might not be very common - In a perfect world, here are my initial thoughts...
Tron slides in from bottom of screen, while Sark slides down from top of screen. What I'd love to do is have one or both of them 'hover' - moving up and down slightly while the theme is selected - that's where I'm thinking I might need Flash to accomplish that part.
As for the DoT logo, I'd like it to 'spin' in from very tiny to it's full size - but another slide down from top will do.
Haven't given a lot of though about the preview frame, but my goal would be to tie it into whatever animations I finally settle on for the main components.
If any of you that have used Flash to do your animations have any tips I'd love to hear them. I have some experience with it, and previously Macromedia Director, so I'm not looking for an in depth tutorial, just your best tips specifically for HS themes.

Nice theme, I'm pretty sure HS does what you want already minus the hover up and down, which would just take me a few minutes to add, which I'll add for tomorrows release so you can get your theme out there, we do have hover already which would also look good on this theme, its more of a hover around random like the big logo on the ghouls n ghost theme.

Also if you ever have any ideas for animations, even if not common, we will consider any suggestions, the way ive written the animation portion of HS makes it very easy for me add new effects.

Zero_Hour,
LOVE this theme. Might be my favorite one so far. Super clean, not too busy, great colors, great artwork, perfect placement and animation. Helluva job for a first theme. Expecting great things to come!
