I was looking for an unzip utility that supported renaming the unzipped files, but I don't think there is one. Anyone?

My reason for the search was that I have a Goodset of C64 roms that is an archive of zipped D64 and T64 files with long filenames. The unzipped D64 and T64 files use the 8.3 short names, and it would be really handy if the unzipper could perform the unzip and then rename the output from *. D64 to %1.d64 (or %1.t64), where %1 was the zip file name without extender. Of course, there are other ways to do this, but it would be a real shortcut if this feature were available.

Thanks for suggestions...

Hmmm

"Extract" now has a load of features

Would a macro do it - look under settings - external in tabs.

Hmm..

Would it work if you used winrar to convert the compressed files to uncompressed zips? I assume you need to do this because the emulator won't play the compressed file?

The only other option I can think of off the top of my head is to put all the D64 files in one directory, the T64 files in another then use HyperSpinRomManager to quickly rename the files without having to do it all manually.

I ran into an issue where an emulator wouldn't play my compressed RAR or some wouldn't play .7z at all. I was able to correct all the issues by batch converting all the files to uncompressed zips using WinRAR.
