I am new and working my way though understand and installing HS. So far so good. I've got MAME working 75% and am hammering away at some other emulators.

I'm just wondering if a Newbie forum ever existed here on the boards. This is something I've seen on other web boards and forums. Even if it were just an opensource glossary of definitions, terms, and especially acronyms that would help.

Maybe an opensource flow chart for various builds.

Don't get me wrong. I'm finding my way with the great doc and resources. I just thought I'd ask.

Welcome to the forum :) While there really isnt a "noob" forum, senior members here usually have no problem helping the new members. Provided you search for your Q&A before making new posts, and post in the correct threads, you should be provided with all the info you need along the way.
