Just to announce I'm working on wheel images and box art for the amiga, based on the KGWHDLoad sets (google em).
I'm not going to do the full 2000 but will stick to games that have artwork and/or classic well loved games. Hopefully I'll have a serviceble set in a couple of weeks.
Gonna take a while......wish me luck :)

Tosec sets are the standard. You may want to consider

Tosecs won't work with winuaeloader, I ain't gonna be using floppy disk images.
This set will be specifically for winuaeloader in whdload mode, which is the best option for Amiga on a front end because; no disk swapping, no cracktros, no copy protections, premade configs and joysticks work automatically.
Check it out...

The premade configs is a BIG sell and almost a necessity, I agree with your choice espontaneo.

I'm not sure whether to do imgaes for both aga and ocs versions of games or just aga...

Are you talking about the FLV? For the images used in a theme, I really don't think that matters, I'd say use the best quality, the user can decide which version he/she wants to run.
BTW, are you taking suggestions on which top games you'll be making? Because if you do, I have a list :).

Well you may want to check whats in the killer gorrilla sets as they are by no means complete yet. Most of the great games are there though.
I'm not doing the flvs, yet.
And despite my best efforts to discriminate I'm pretty much working through the whole damn thing :)

Might be better to find an Amiga top 100 list and work from that initially. You will die of old age long before you complete that lot and that's only if you survive the exhaustion!

Yeah I'm starting to agree with that assessment....

lol..
Wheel images are very time consuming depending on how picky you are, I'm very picky and like to redraw most from scratch if I can. But the satisfaction of getting em done feels real good.

Ok I've picked a bunch of games, once I've done a decent selection I'll release a set with an xml to match...

Most excellent!
As a fellow enthusiast you probably know of this top 100 list?
http://www.warblade.as/feature01.html
The most realistic list I have come across on my travels.
Keep up the good work!

Cheers for the list, Most of those games are already in my list but I've also doing some of the notoriously bad games as well (ie AKIRA), you gotta have the rough with the smooth...
Also I'm generally avoiding arcade ports at the moment for obvious reasons.
70 done so far.

Bit of an update.
115 wheels done so far with box art, though some I am not too happy with until I have new software.
I'm also experimenting with FLVs.
I'm also working on an amiga title and default theme, with the familiar tick logo (that demo ball thing is from the end of the amigas life). Once I have a nice FLV montage i'll release the lot together as a set.
Anyone know of good source of amiga photos (other than google)?
I have fixed some of the whdload set and added some "extra" games. PM me for info.

Just to let you know I'm still working on them, I've been I little sidetracked with college work and making themes for the games on the LAN where I work.
In addition I'm doing flv's for the games I've done so far so it will be at least a few weeks before a release.

What about using real screenshots instead of box-art for the themes - is that even viable?
Agony, Monkey Island, Speedball2 (Ice Cream,Ice Cream), Another World, Flashback, Uridium 2, Super Frog, Alien Breed '92, Benefactor, Odyssey!!! Mwaahh the list of greatness is endless....Ammiiiiiggaaaaaaa!!!!
:bawling: Just a shame WinUAE and the adf's are a bi*tc*h to get to work on a front-end eh? :(

Wow - works like a dream!! Awesome - thanks; do you still need artwork to make the Amiga wheels? I have collected thousands of Amiga box art scans (complete set I'm told).

I need some box art scans : I'm working on amiga wheels : I've completed "A" & "B" games from my list (with Espontaneo ones I reached 334 objects)

I'm still working on these by the way but going through the boxes I've done - converting them to 3D...
I'm also working on a full CD32 set on flvs, 3D boxes and wheels. I've got a lot of things on my plate though so It'll be a long time coming
Fifou - I advise against working your way from a-z you will go insane and you don't have FLVs to go with them - just do the best games first - so people can have a working set of the classics they can use now.

Hello Redmistpete,
My work on Amiga wheels :
I have now done 681 : A to L complete from my game list wich corresponds to Amiga games ranked 5 to 10 on Lemon Amiga site
I made them from boxscans from HOL site and screen shots when I can't find the boxscan as I don't know how to retrace ...
Each wheel art was renamed like WHDLoad dat file
I wait for an Espontaneo 3d box model to complete with box arts
When all the wheels will be done (about 370 to complete) I'll make the vids
Excuse me for my bad english :)

Never mind I found them on Emumovies FTP. The one's I'm making have higher quality and meets emumovies new "rules" better though, so I'll probably do the ones you did aswell.

If anyone is looking for a project, anyone helping in doing Amiga HQ movie sets would be greatly appreciated. There is over 2000 in the WHD database, and is very overwhelming for a couple people going alone.

An idea may be for admin to "assign" just one video/wheel-art to each member to complete. With all the members here it shouldn't take too long for stuff to start rolling in. This way more people will become involved and it would really pull the community together if everyone knew they were contributing to the project.

Great idea. I hope it picks up. It takes only a couple minutes time to create a title. Even if it's just playing the game and submitting raw footage that would help out a TON.

Can you post a link to the tutorial from emumovies and maybe post an updated list of the titles that need doing? You could start a new "Contribution" thread here with a tutorial and an updated list of all the videos which need doing and edit the post so that any completed titles can be removed from the list - that way people can just pick one from the list, make the video and then upload it? I'm sure people will get involved.

Is Circo's Guide to capturing movies
--
http://emumovies.com/forums/index.php?/topic/121-amiga-recordings/page__view__findpost__p__1055
Is my process when dealing specifically with Amiga and issues I have run across with resolution changes.
With the help of Blazer and Espontao's work, we have 400 SD (320x240) res movie files pooled on emumovies ftp. Circo is pushing for 640x480 files to be created, and any SD can be batched in after the master HQ.
The SD's need to be redone in the long run, as missing HQ mates and they were resized from Espontao's vertical format of 352x288 files, and blazer had some issues that included letterboxing.

I'll contribute to Amiga vids when I'll finish my wheels set (200 to complete) ; my pack contains 1000 + wheels : I'll start with videos that corresponds to these wheels
So I'll try with 640x480 files ; what about the time for each video ?
See ya soon !
