Hello,
I have a quick question, hope this is the right place to post. I have an older .80 MAME rom set that I'm currently running on MAME32.

1st ? Can I use this older .80 MAME rom set with HS ?
2nd ? If so, where do I place the roms. On my version of MAME 32 you just
put them into the folder marked ROMS.
3rd ? Do I create a folder labeled roms and where does that folder need to be
placed ? I assume inside the Hyperspin folder, but is there a certain folder
it needs to be put.
4th ? Is the Mame EMU already included in the HS download folder or do I put an
appropriate MAME EMU in the emulation folder of MAME in HS ? If this is the
case, I'm pretty sure I know what to do at that point :)

Thanks for any help.

PS: The latest release of HS looks incredible. I FTP'd the download last night
and it is an amazing FE ! I just need to play some games now :)

Hello,
I have a quick question, hope this is the right place to post. I have an older .80 MAME rom set that I'm currently running on MAME32.

1st ? Can I use this older .80 MAME rom set with HS ? You can use any version of MAME with HyperSpin. However, the included database file is for .128. You will need to create a database file that matches your rom set. You might be able to use RomLister with your version of MAME to create the database file. You would then place that database file into the HyperSpin\Databases\MAME folder.

2nd ? If so, where do I place the roms. On my version of MAME 32 you just
put them into the folder marked ROMS. Normally the roms would go into a folder called Roms within your MAME folder. In HyperSpin you will need to edit the path and point to where your mame.exe and roms are located. This can be done using HyperHQ that is included in the HyperSpin folder.

3rd ? Do I create a folder labeled roms and where does that folder need to be
placed ? I assume inside the Hyperspin folder, but is there a certain folder
it needs to be put. Please see above.

4th ? Is the Mame EMU already included in the HS download folder or do I put an
appropriate MAME EMU in the emulation folder of MAME in HS ? If this is the
case, I'm pretty sure I know what to do at that point :) HyperSpin does NOT include any Emulators or ROMS.

Thanks for any help.

PS: The latest release of HS looks incredible. I FTP'd the download last night
and it is an amazing FE ! I just need to play some games now :)

Please see my remarks above in red.

Dazz,
Thanks you for the quick response on my questions. I might just try to get a new set of ROMs (sounds like it will work better with HS - FE ) I'm wondering if I should get ROMs from EMUmovies or ROMcollector. Do you have a preference or reccomendation for me. I'm not sure if I am allowed to ask this question in an open forum (ROMs) ? If not, just PM me the information.

:burnout:

EmuMovies (My Site) doesn't have any roms, My main focus is video previews for all emulated systems and also misc artwork packs for all of the systems.
