Hi guys since finding hyperspin i have loved this frontend, but i think a lot of the themes look very plain and boring, i think if anyone is good at using photoshop, maybe we should try giving the pictures a nice gloss effect, ice seen it done and t looks great.

I'm curious to know what the difference would look like. Can you take one of the theme pics and "gloss" it up so we can visually compare. IMO, many of the themes already look great.

He is probably talking about bevel and/or emboss. Gives the illusion of light reflection and some depth. We were playing around with using that effect on one of the console wheel sets. But for using it on everythign, I think that would look a little cheesy (if that is what you are talking about).

This is an frontend based on old school art not a "Web 2.0" FE. But a little gloss can help but thats up to the user that creates the theme and how he/she wants it to appear.

Yes thats right the bevel and emboss. i think it would look good.

Ok not on everything but just a dab here and there.

Well if at anytime a user wants to create theyre theme with these effects then they can. It would be kinda messed up to create an effect that makes the users theme look different than they originally intend.

Yea i understand just from now on i mean if anyone wants to try it for a test just to see how it looks it would be nice.

The web 2.0 look is a passing fad, so I'd hate to see hundreds of themes look obsolete/dated in a couple years (lens flares FTW!). I'd rather see all this effort go into something that will stand the test of time.
