It would be really cool to have the video window auto-play a youtube located video. This would really cut down on the size of physical data that needs to be stored since the user would not have to manually host the video files on their hard drive.

A URL for the desired video could be provided instead, and when the game is selected, the video plays.

I doubt this would ever be supported. So much time is spent perfecting the artwork, if you spoiled it with crappy quality videos or slow loading of videos, it ruins the whole experience. HD space is so cheap these days, you really have no excuse anymore not to have enough space.

I can see how this would be a draw for some people, but if you look up YouTube videos for these games, a lot of them are ridiculously long (full playthroughs) or have stupid commentary that ruins it. It's also not very reliable since you never know if that video is going to be removed (or have the audio removed by YouTube).

Not to mention the fact that you would need an internet-enabled cab.

Thanks for the idea, but I think the cons outweigh the pros in this one. :)

If you want to run Youtube stuff, you can always use the Firefox download helper and save whatever vids you want.

There are alot of pros and cons, but it might be a good idea to at least provide an option for this, I could see the value of a lesser quality 'mini instal' that would take shortcuts like these. As far as worrying about youtube legal junk or dependability, maybe we could set up a streaming service at emumovies? That would really be bang for the buck.

I think circo would consider that once the monthly payments reach 100k a month :)

Video streaming takes a horrible amount of bandwidth.
