Hi guys, firstly ive got my PSX working fully on its own now (loading games etc with no worries) but i can only make it go fullscreen by pressing alt+enter on my keyboard - how to i make this automatic? found the below on their site:
Commandline Switches:
Q. How do I use commandline switches?
A [NEW]. Try pSX Frontend.
A [OLD]. Create a shortcut to psxfin.exe and edit it so that you have a space and then the commandline switch in Target field. Alternatively, you can create a shortcut to cmd.exe in the directory that you have psxfin.exe in and edit the properties so that the Start in field is empty. Press OK, and run the shortcut. From there, you can type in psxfin.exe -whatever -switches -you -want.
Q. What switches are there to use?
A. Type psxfin.exe -? at the command prompt to see a list of all available commandline switches.
Q. I used the switch to open in fullscreen, but it disables pausing instead! What gives?
A. Command line switches are case sensitive, so -f is not equivalent to -F.
Ok so all that goes over my head, i tried downloading psx frontend and cant get it set up, i fill it all in and then press "run PSX" and it doesn't do anything. and I dont understand how to do the commandline switches thing above.
Any help on either how to set up PSX frontend OR how to do the commandline switches would be great, ive been messing with it for hours with no luck.
Also while im on the topic, some of my games - the ones that are .IMG, .SUB, .CCD files are running, BUT the sound cuts out at times - is there anyway i can fix that?
Thanks for the help!
First upgrade to hyperlaunch 2.0, then use the modules on HyperList that have been created for you.

I am already running hyperlaunch 2.0. and by modules do you mean these
http://hyperlist.hyperspin-fe.com/?module=browseahk&system=135
im running PSX though, and those look to be different psx emulators?
What do i do once i have the modules?
sorry for all the questions, PSX seems to be the only one i cant figure out..
If you are running PSX and HL2, then you don't have a module for that emu. I suggest setting up pcsx-r. It is the best psx emu right now. I don't have any plans to make a psxfin module.

All good, downloaded pcsx-r and it works great on its own. Here is my problem now though, i have my isos in rar files, hyperspin reads them - BUT when i go into hyperspin, select the game, pcsx-r loads in the top of the screen and does not automatically load the game. I think this is my last little problem before i can say PS1 games are done (cant wait to be finished lol)
I downloaded the proper module for the emulator. but where do i put that AHK file?
Also thanks heaps for the help, its been really frustrating for me to work this one out

PCSX-R won't read the RAR files, they have to be straight ISOs. HyperSpin reads the database, it doesn't physically read the files. That's up to the emulators.

Ok so your saying in hyperspin itself under the sony ps1 wheel settings where it says "extensions" it should say the ps1 iso files which are " iso;mdf;img;bin " so that would be as i typed in that box. Then in my ps1 game/rom folder every file should be unzipped and be cue,iso,mdf,img etc files.
Im going to try this now then see how i go

I'm not sure if it accepts a semi-colon for a seperator for the extensions, try using just a comma.

ok my hyperspin is set up right, but the actual PCSX-R program just loads in the top corner (not playing the game just the start up screen) when i click enter on the games.
Im assuming hyperspin is right as it doesnt show any extension errors.
To me it seems like i have not configured PCSX-R to load the game properly. It loads it when i load it up manually though, so its not the game itself. How do i make the PCSX-R load the game on fullscreen automatically?
I feel if the AHK file needs to go in somewhere - the one mentioned above by djvj. Unsure where it goes in though.

The module should be named Sony Playstation.ahk and go in the Module\Sony Playstation directory. If Sony Playstation is what you have the system named as in HyperSpin.
Load up PCSX-R and go into Configuration / Graphics. Then make sure your graphics settings are correct with FullScreen selected in the top left. Pete's OpenGL2 Renderer is the best one to use for plugins. Probably have to find and download that one.

hi, my PCSX-R is set to fullscreen. and also the AHK file im talking about is named PCSX-R.ahk - so it is the actual programs ahk not the sony playstation one as that is already in the right folder. I have put the PCSX-R.ahk into the right folder now so its no longer a problem BUT the below is still happening
I dont understand why this would happen. This is what i did, i put my roms into the right folder, they are extracted. i have a mix of file types in there. I set hyperspin up - making sure i linked to the program and the rom folder, then i put the file extensions in as " iso,mdf,img,bin "
I then named the BIN file to "crash bash (USA)" so the hyperspin could read it.
i load up hyperspin, go to the crash bash game on the menu and it doesnt come up with any error message, just PCSX-R loading up in the top left corner on its load up screen. Meaning i can only load the game if i manually use the program.

The ahk must be named the same as the directory it's in. You can delete the other ahk since it is not needed. Just the PCSX-R afk named correctly.

so it replaces the one already in there, ill try that when i come home from work, hope it works. thanks for your help, any other ideas of things to try if it doesnt work?

Alright now, i renamed the file and put it where you told me to, now this is what happens. when i press enter on the game wheel the screen goes black and doesnt load the game, when i press esc, it flashes back to hyperspin and you can see the PSX emulator still at the top of the screen not loading the rom at all. I then have to get out of the program by holding ctrl alt delete as there is no other way to exit as my exit button just makes the screen fade to hyperspin - then back to black.

I have a problem with the loading screens on djvj's modules, so I disable them in the ahk. This usually fixes the fading back and forth problem. Nothing to do with his fantastic modules, just something weird with HyperSpin. It has to do with the hide_desktop function I believe in the main settings.ini. In the Sony Playstation.ahk change these:
LoadingScreen = true
ExitScreen = true
to...
LoadingScreen = false
ExitScreen = false
If it still doesn't load here, and it works outside of HyperSpin, then I have to ask. Are all your PSX games in different formats? What I did was convert them all to straight ISOs using IsoBuster. That was they were all the same file format, and are easy to point to, name, and load.

10-24-2011, 01:45 AM
ok my files were not all the same, but i decided to delete the lot and just have one game to test, i converted it from bin to iso using isobuster - and tried it in pcsx-r and it worked. I go into hyperspin, and again it is not working, it just loads up the pcsx-r program in the top corner. I wish this would work, its so frustrating!

Wish i knew the fix for this, been playing with it for awhile now, about to give up on playing psx games on hyperspin :(
Do you have DaemonTools installed?
Do this, above this line:
If ( romExtension = ".cue" ) {
Put this:
clipboard = %executable% -nogui -cdfile "%romPath%%romName%%romExtension%"`n%emuPath%
Then paste the result in a post here. The info is in your clipboard, so you won't see it.

i dont have daemon tools installed and i have not changed anything to false except for the things HyphyCus told me to on the page before

I don't think you are running PCSX-R, but only PCSX. Get the latest version here (http://www.emucr.com/2011/08/pcsx-reloaded-svn-r69887.html). This would be why the module isn't working correctly.

No matter how long it took at least you got it figured out. Hopefully your other systems you put in will go more smoothly. Everything is trial and error with HyperSpin, but you get a lot of satisfaction when it all goes right!

Ok, time for me to post my issue. Hopefully someone has an answer, I have run my head against a wall long enough. This issue is only with my PSX emulation so far. I'm sure this issue will make setting up future disc based emulators easier as well. I am probably making some super lame mistake, hopefully someone can spot it.
Background:
All of my PSX games work flawlessly within ePSXe and pcsxr. This is when I specifically tell the emulator where the game is located and grab the correct file.
From Hyperlaunch.exe none of my games work, except for Jet Moto 2 (Located: F:\Stuff\roms\Sony Playstation\Jet Moto 2 [NTSC-U] [SCUS-94167]\Jet Moto 2 [NTSC-U] [SCUS-94167].bin)
From Hyperspin.exe none of my PSX games work, not even Jet Moto 2.
I am using the newest version on pcsxr.exe as recommended in post 27 (http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showpost.php?p=146880&postcount=26).
I am using the most recent AHK file from this page. (http://hyperlist.hyperspin-fe.com/index.php?module=browseahk&system=135)
I do have DAEMON Tools Lite installed and ready for use. I do have a virtual SCSI ready for usage, but mounting images has not yielded different results from the issue(s) I am having.
I have autohotkey installed but I will admit that I don't understand the whole "compile thing". I see that I can right click on the ahk files to compile them but it just makes an .exe, I have no idea what to do with the .exe once it is made. If I double click it, the screen goes black and I head a windows error chime sound. I then have to ALT+TAB and close the script.
Hyperspin and Hyperlaunch both say:
"Cannot find rom _________ with any provided extension" when I try to load a PSX game.
File locations:
Hyperspin:
F:\Stuff\Hyperspin
Modules:
F:\Stuff\Hyperspin\Modules
Playstation AHK:
F:\Stuff\Hyperspin\Modules\Sony Playstation\Sony Playstation.ahk
PSX roms:
F:\Stuff\roms\Sony Playstation
-Inside the playstation directory all my games are organized by individual folders

It would be best to have them all in the same directory, since HS points to one directory only. So it's not finding your games. They would all have to be in F:\Stuff\roms\Sony Playstation\. You don't need to compile the AHKs anymore with HL 2.0.

Good to know about the .ahk files, thank you.
Also, I pulled the contents out of the individual folders and so now all my PSX games are working in both Hyperspin as well as Hyperlaunch. Thank you so much.
An issue that occurred because I pulled the files out of their respective folders is that all the individual files are now showing up in Hyperspin. So, for example, Blast Chamber (one of my all time favorite PSX games) has 21 individual files. I have to scroll through 21 instances of Blast Chamber in Hyperspins scrolling menu, before I can see the next game on the list. In this case, only the first instance of Blast Chamber correctly launches the game. The other ones go to a black screen briefly before going back to the Hyperspin menu.
Is this an issue with the xml creator I am using? I'm using XML Sydaroa.exe as my database creator.
How can I alleviate this? Thanks again.

Having an issue with ePSXe and AHK. I am just trying out PSX gaming with Hyperspin, but the game doesn't exit with ESC. But that is beside the point. I use an XBOX controller and xpadder. Is there a code that will replace the "ESC" option to select and start both being pressed at the same time (which I have currently set to, "Backspace" for "Select" and "Return" for "Start" using xpadder). I have the default AHK from this site if you need to know how the AHK looks. Anyone know how to set this up?
