Not sure if anyone has participated in Humble Bundle before but it's a great way to get good cheap games and decide where the money you pay goes towards. The newest one features the alpha build of Voxatron, a game I think might be pretty cool for cab play. I will be purchasing it this afternoon, and will report back on the gameplay.

I love the Humble Bundles. I've purchased all of the past ones and will get this one this weekend.

2 more games have been added.

The Binding of Isaac and Blocks That Matter.

Always get these. Good finds of indie games I'd never really try usually.

Played all 3 on the train ride home. Voxatron is definitely the coolest of the 3 so far. Although I do not like the shooting mechanics...they need to switch it to a Smash TV config...would play much better. I am not a fan of the locked position shooting. The graphics are perfect for a cab though!

Should be perfect for a cab then.

Coming in the next update (v.0.1.4):

:: Controls

Does no-one like cursors+ZX anymore? No? ok, so instead of trying to standardise the controls and design around that, I'll instead make them as configurable as possible. There's a new menu in OPTIONS coming in 0.1.4 which lets you assign keys, joystick movements, button presses, mouse clicks and mouse movements to the 10 different actions the player can perform:
move(x4), jump, shoot, directional shoot (x4).

:: Drifting -- character constantly runs up/jumps etc

It seems this is caused for a variety of reasons. Some systems are reading the mouse or the accelerometer as an uncalibrated joystick input, or there is a joystick device present with no physical counterpart, or one of the many keyboard keys assigned to a particular action is incorrectly registered as pressed.

The way I'm doing the new configurable keys will fix the vast majority of this. You have to explicitly enable each device as an input (keys / mouse / joystick), so if there is anything giving off ghost signals it won't affect the game.

Yeah, Voxatron rocks! Great graphics, and physics. Though only thing I am not a fan of is the shooting being locked onto the movement directions (works good in side TDS games, but not so well in a 3D environment.) However, it does add to the overall challenge. I give that one a 5/5! Great job!

That is exactly what I commented on earlier Rain. And apparently they are going to let the user customize the shooting mechanics in the next release.
