hey someone posted some ad spam in this thread. could a mod remove it and ban that bot/user?

The easiest way to deal with the Spammers is to click the report button at the bottom of the post, Type in SPAM or description of issue with post (like an extremely abusive post), and then the mods are notified that way.
Yes, and we normally get these cleaned up pretty quickly. They might be posted and viewable for a bit longer over the evening hours, but we'll get them in the morning.

Ya I caught one dude while he was still typing, he never even got the second one through. I get em pretty quick, admin can ban the user right from the site and delete all the posts in like 2 clicks, so its not hard to handle em.

Usually its just bots. BBB can check to see if there are any updates or patches to the vbulliten software. These things happen in spurts as security holes are exploited.
