Being able to pause MAME and see the fighting game moves is very nice to have setup. Below is a pic of my control panel setup and what the moves menu looks like in CPWiz thus far. The moves menu image below isn't my screen, but taken from the official site to show how it looks when setup.

BTW - Didn't I mention that search sub-folders does not work?

About a month....

Much of the time was spent renaming files though. (I'm sooo glad that's over)

Getting it to work, and making it look nice are two completely different things.

Emulator setup progressed pretty quick once I learned how Hyperspin worked. (something that happened automatically through constant toying of .xml's and .ahk)

I had previously come very close to finishing Maximus Arcade as a FE, when I run into HS. (These themes for games just can't be beat!)

Ace or Dazz,

you guys both have Sega Model 2 working perfectly with 8.0 ...

Could you post your .ini's?

I had a problem (seems to be pretty common) with the previous version of Hyperspin where exiting Model 2 did not go back to Hyperspin. It is like Hyperspin "loses focus" and the only way to get back to it is by selecting it from the taskbar. there was a modified ahk file for Hyperlaunch that resolved the issue. I've tried the Hyperlaunch that is bundled with 8.0 and i tried the "modified for model 2" ahk file that previously worked... but no luck.

any ideas?

ok this is weird. i changed my ini's to match yours. here's what i found:

if there is nothing else open on the taskbar (no other folders, programs, anything) Hyperspin still loses focus when i exit the Model 2 emulator.

However, if i have another folder open in the taskbar (i.e. C:\Hyperspin) prior to starting Hyperspin something else happens. The first time i exit a the emulator it again loses focus and shows a black screen and the taskbar. If i right click on the other open task (C:\Hyperspin folder) and click "close" then click on Hyperspin in the taskbar i go back into Hyperspin. Although, from this point on when i run a rom and exit the Model 2 emulator it correctly brings me back to the wheel!

why would this be? it's almost as if hyperlaunch doesn't know to go back to Hyperspin... here is my log:

Is your HyperLaunch a new version or one of the older ones? I kow that the older one had some return focus issues, but the newer one fixed those. Also you might just want to wait for the next version of HyperLaunch as Bill has cleaned up the code and fixed a couple issues. This might be one of them.

Problem solved!!!

I was comparing my Hyperspin 7 settings vs my Hyperspin 8 settings and i found a difference.

C:\Hyperspin\Settings\Settings.ini

Hyperspin 7
[Resolution]
Fullscreen: = false

Hyperspin 8
[Resolution]
Fullscreen: = true

i modified my Hyperspin 8 settings.ini to be "false" for the Fullscreen parameter. After i did that everything worked perfectly!

(this is using the hyperlaunch that is bundled with 8.0)

Thanks guys for your help.

I tried to get VICE c=64 emu to work but tbh i couldn't even figgure out where to add it to get it to show up on the wheel, let alone launch the games properly...

I think commodore will be a nightmare to set up. Especially with my limited knowledge of how hyperspin is edited.

Sega Model 3??? Nintendo DS?? Are you using Mame for Model 3? I heard (even with the latest version of Mame) it is incredibly slow, bordering on unplayable. To my knowledge, there isn't even Nintendo DS emulation out there.

I'm not sure about the touch screen part of it. I don't really mess with NDS emulator all that much. Is there a Sega Model 3 emulator available? Everytime I search for one it says it is a WIP, but the date says 2006.

SophT

I've seen some cab's with touchscreens, in fact one guy over at PD is building one with a 7" touchscreen right on his CP, which is sweet - as far as emulators I think no$gba is the preferred DS emulator. And there are lots of great DS games that don't require touch screen, but having dual screens is still beneficial.

I haven't been able to find a good M3 emulator

you have to use 1.6.2 and get a fake aspi layer

I think teh one i'm using is called 'frogaspi'

get it here:

download teh one taht says "(already renamed as wnaspi32.dll). Size : 32 KB"

I keep a spreadsheet of my progress, good to see I'm not the only one who tracks all of this though:

ARCADE:
MAME - Completed
Naomi - Completed
Model 2 - Completed
Neo Geo - Completed
Futurepin - Don't have full tableset but the ones I have work
Atomiswave - Completed (1 game)
Daphne - Completed

CONSOLE:
NES - Completed
SNES - Completed
N64 - Completed
TurboGrafx 16 - Completed
Sega Master System - Completed
Genesis - Completed
32x - Completed
Dreamcast - Completed

HANDHELD:
GBA - Completed
Lynx - Completed
Neo Geo Pocket - Completed
GameGear - Completed

PC:
ScummVM - Completed

SKIPPING FOR NOW:
Gamecube - Emu too slow
PS2 - Emu too slow
Neo Geo CD - No point?

LEFT TO DO:
Sega CD - Can't find ROMs, burning ISO from my collection would be faster anyways
Saturn - Nothing Done
Famicom Disk System - Nothing Done
Gameboy/GBC - Nothing Done
Atari 2600 - Just need to add to HS
Atari 5200 - Nothing Done
Atari 7800 - Nothing Done
Jaguar - Nothing Done
Intellivision - Nothing Done
Zinc - Nothing Done
3DO - Nothing Done
PSX - Don't know if I want it

Con someone explain the appeal of Zinc to me? Does it emulate THAT much better than MAME to warrant it's own wheel?

With Zinc I'd say it depends on the spec of your PC.....if MAME is running Tekken etc no problems then there is probably no point, if they are sluggish then I'd definately go for it as Zinc runs far better on slower machines.

With Saturn be warned you need a swift PC...at least c2d 2.2Ghz I've found or it is just too slow...once running however it's awesome....same with Mega CD...but then I was a Sega fanboy as a kid :)

jtslade,

What are the specs of your system?...

We should add the specs of our systems to these posts, I would like to know how the emulation is running on my system compared to everyone else, to know what to expect...

Thanks, Guys!

nes- emu working, wheels working, no themes, yet
neo-geo pocket - emu working, wheels working, no themes
genesis- all working but themes

mame- still working on it... I need the complete set, Kind of waiting until .135 arrives... can anyone suggest where to get this?... I thought about getting a rom burner to do it for me, but it comes with a hefty price...?

sega model 2- all working but themes

also working on converting my simpsons cab to use all of this... ( and still keeping the simpsons cab legit, not easy not hacking into the cp though)... and I am possibly going to make a control panel from scratch if Scott from mameroom does not get back with me soon.

intel core 2 duo e2200 2.2ghz

Why wait for .135 roms? I'd suggest getting the .134 as I'm very happy with the set. I'll probably wait to update this set until NAOMI emulation is close to perfect. This might be might be in 2010 as they have stated. I hang out on **.com for my addications :dancing2:

Yes, And the Prg Launches but the menu just goes dark and then I have to Manually close out freedo.exe to get back to the main menu. I never see the game. What does your 3DO config part look like? So I can compare it to mine. Thanks.. :questionmark:

i have this running on vista64. i think your problem lies in the setup of the emulator itself. did you solve this yet?

Here is my current setup:

Nintendo..............................PERFECT
Sega Master........................PERFECT
Super Nintendo...................PERFECT
Genesis...............................PERFECT
Sega 32X.............................PERFECT
Sega CD...............................Games that do not have corresponding mp3's work fine. Once search sub-folders for roms works then all games should work correctly.
Sega Naomi........................ Unable to map player 2 controls via NullCD-Naomi. 1 Player works fine when launched via external loader.
Sega Dreamcast.................PERFECT
TurboGrafx 16.....................PERFECT
PC Engine...........................PERFECT
Nintendo 64........................PERFECT
Playstation..........................PERFECT
Gameboy.............................PERFECT
Gameboy Color ...................PERFECT
Gameboy Advance...............PERFECT
Game Gear..........................PERFECT
Daphne...............................PERFECT
Zinc.....................................Can't get roms to launch via HS, but works outside via ZincGUI.
Sega Model2.......................PERFECT
Visual Pinball.......................PERFECT (I need sub-folder support working)
Future Pinball......................PERFECT (I need sub-folder support working)
Jukebox...............................Work in progress (can't get Silverjuke to exit correctly)
Mame..................................PERFECT
Neo Geo...............................PERFECT
Neo Geo Pocket Color..........PERFECT
Atari 2600...........................PERFECT
Atari 5200...........................PERFECT
Atari Lynx............................PERFECT
Panasonic 3DO....................PERFECT with external launcher.
PC Games............................Work in progress. Some game work PERFECT - Guitar Hero 3, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Tiger Woods, Aquaria - but others have resolution issues or blank screen when launched - Super Mario War (res issue) & I Wanna Be The Guy - blank screen).

I have also setup HitoText and CP Wizard setup and working Well, CPWiz setup is working, but mapping all of the buttons is still a work in progress.

I made a workaround for the subfolders problem in the unofficial hyperlaunch. did you see that?
