Must have arcade games.

What are some must have games for your arcade cab? I know some of the obvious ones are already made into Hyperspin themes, but I'm kind of curious of what everyone likes. I always spent my quarters on Nintendo games when I was a kid, and never had any left for the arcade.

Streetfighters/Mk's/x-men/simpsons/golden age classics/golden tee/shuffle shot (I play the hell out of shuffle shot)/ all the neo geo games... actually there is a lot if you think about it.

It's a good list to get us thinking, thanks. But it loses a lot of respect when their top 100 games of all times doesn't include Pacman, Ms Pacman and mother trucking Robotron. Yeah, that piece of crap Robotron is not a top 100 arcade game of all time.

The list used mame.dk for its stats, so I'm not surprised to see large roms that people were freaking over to download like Metal Slug/KOF series, et all near the top of the list (though I'll admit to be surprised Xybots is there. Xybots?!?)

There are some glaring admissions you are right! I get the impression nobody over 16 voted in that :D given the average age of most of the games in the list.

Still as you say a good starting point.

I already have Cream of the crop lists for various systems gleaned from various online poles and reviews, I'll post them as soon as i've converted them to HyperSpin format, for anybody who can make use of them.

Moon Patrol is a personal fav. I actually pumped qute a few quarters in that one.

I agree with you for both Pacman and MsPacman.

I raised an eyebrow, felt insulted and let down (ok, I exagerate) when you said Robotron wasn't there. However Robotron is there under

75 - robotryo - Robotron (Yellow/Orange label)

Pffft. 75, it should at least number 1 if not better.

It's interesting but I find many of my favorite games were of course the ones that were in the corner store when I grew up. It is funny that xybots is on the top of that list. It IS one of my favorite games of all time and actually the reason that I ponied up the $$ for the rotary joysticks.. :-)

I remember collecting carts in the Safeway parking lot all day just looking to return them for the quarters that we would dump in the arcade.
