If someone is wondering "What is a Taito Type X² game doing here? They are not (yet) emulated.", then you have to know that before making his arcade debut, Trouble Witches is a PC Game.
It is missing the two characters added for the arcade version of course, but it remains a good game.
Official website: http://trouble_witches.mails.ne.jp/index.htm
Trouble Witches is an Horizontal Shoot'em'up developed by Studio Siesta.
It is played with four buttons: Fire, Magic Circle, Select Magic Card, Use Magic Card.
Magic Cards are one-use-only and can be purchased in shops that appear ingame, using coins collected killing enemies.
An english manual is available from the official website: http://trouble_witches.mails.ne.jp/tw_eng.htm
A demo is available: http://www.mails.ne.jp/~studio_siesta/download/TroubleWitchesTrial080706_Setup.msi
The game can be purchased from Himeyashop.com for 26$ plus shipping: http://www.himeyashop.com/product_info.php/products_id/7957
A patch for the game (for the full version) is available wich makes it better overall: http://www.mails.ne.jp/~studio_siesta/download/tw_patch_113.exe
------------------------- Theme Announcement ---------------------------
So I have been working on a theme for this game in the past days.
Many souls were devoured in the process.
The game title is made from scratch, and inspired by the arcade title ( http://members3.jcom.home.ne.jp/studio-siesta/twac_aou2009.htm ).
The background and the borders were made from scratch too, inspired by the art on the official website. The video overlay was made from scratch, like the one on the official game posters.
The characters were extracted from existing art.
The studio siesta logo is just converted from a gif in the official website because by then I couldn't care anymore. :D
This is the result:
