I have decided to use Hyperspin on my cab as opposed to the frontend I purchased called Maximus Arcade. The transition to Hyperspin was going well until I hit NullDC and its inability to customize the quit command. In Maximus it had a customizable exit hook for anything run through the frontend so this was not a problem before.
I would like to exit Nulldc using the 3+4 keys, but have been unsucessful thus far. The closest I got was when I launched closemul though Hyperspin it started Nulldc but was unable to run the game selected. I was able to go back to Hyperspin with 3+4 though. I believe its possible using closemul but am at a loss to how to set it up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I never used Closeemul... But Id suggest a simple autohotkey script to map buttons 3+4 to ALT+f4 ... that would effectifly close Nulldc and bring HS back into focus.
You can have the script wait for the nulldc running process before its active ... This way you dont accidently close HS.
If you look in the dreamcast.ini in the settings folder you can see how we are launching it..
That should help aid you in your attempt to get closeemul running.
:)
But Id really go for my first suggestion.

I was just going over the help files. If you can create an autohotkey script without too much trouble I would really appreciate it.

Okay This script is the shit.
Put ALL files in your nulldc directory.. It is designed to use the latest build of nulldc... the 1.6 version
What it does.
1 Waits for nulldc to be launched.
2 Hides the cursor.
3 Lauches remap (This maps ESC to ALT+f4)
4 Waits for the emu to be closed.
5 unhides the mouse
6 un binds the keys
7 Kills the process to the apps
Usage:
The zip includes 4 files
Null.EXE the loader
Remap.exe The key remapper
Nomousy.exe Hides the mouse... Great FREE utility
PSKILL.exe The bomb for killing any process... (Yes I know about tskill and such but thiss works for ALL windows os)RUN THIS ONCE REAL QUICK TO ACCEPT USAGE AGREEMENT
Run null.exe in the launch before section.
To test.
Run null.exem Youll notice a tray item appear.. Launch nulldc (you dont have to launch a game) You should notice your mouse dissapper and a new script load in the taskbar, Press ESC.. This will send ALT+F4 to the active window (nulldc) Then the mouse will appear the mapping will be gone because the process isnt running. The loaders will dissapper from the taskbar.
I dont protect my loader so people can learn how they work. It can be edited to work with anything.
Happy Gaming

Your nulldc pack works great the first time you run a game in nulldc, but exit out of the fisrt game and start another in hyperspin and your right back to seeing the mouse again. Anyone have any ideas to make it work everytime? I have nul.exe loading before hyperspin, and I config with hyperhq.

You are using the outdated way of using NullDC.
HyperLaunch currently supports running NullDC directly and without problems. This is also the preferred way of doing it if I'm not mistaken. There have been plenty of threads on this as well. :)

Brian, I've been PM'ing you back and forth, but I figured I would pop in here to give you an update. I downloaded the new Hyperlaunch, and it will at least open nulldc from hyperspin now, but the screen is just black - I can hear the dreamcast .iso playing, but I can't see it - all there is is a black screen and a mouse pointer. Any ideas?
thanks,

I'd goto the log. Copy. The command hs is usiing to launch the game and run it from a dos propmt...
More than likely u don't have it set to run full screen

To amend what Brian stated, you can also see http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/wiki/NullDC for proper setup/config (this assumes you've already setup your controls).

Thanks for the tips guys! the fullscreen option was turned off - not sure how it got turned off, I've made sure several times that it was set to 1. I guess some key command I hit defaulted it back to off. Seems to be working great now, the only issue I notice is that when you enter into nulldc from hyperspin (and when you exit nulldc) you briefly see the desktop/taskbar, mouse cursor, and nulldc windowed, before it goes to fullscreen - This is only when using the NULLPVR plugin though, if I use the chankast video plugin, this doesn't happen. I guess I can just use the chankast plugin if need be, the only reason I use the null video plugin is the beginning dreamcast loading logo is messed up looking on the chankast plugin.

This is only when using the NULLPVR plugin though, if I use the chankast video plugin, this doesn't happen.
Sadly, this is nothing that can be done to fix it as it's due to the plugin and not HS :( (atleast, that I'm aware of)
