help!

i have 2 monitors, wizard controller set up on my kitchen table for a week now...
ive been doing tests with monitor resolutions, and table test with both visual and future pin.
ive been using my laptop to run everything, i knew it would be choppy but it was just testing stuff out.running pf in 1920x1080 and bglass 1024x768

my laptop has hdmi out,vga out
2.0 dual intel core
3 gig ram
nvidia 8400gt card 256 mb
vist 32bit

so its pretty good laptop, but it got alot crap also running in the bkground cause its a laptop right?

so after work today i bought my dedicated pc for my inconstruction cab, heres the specs:

2.66 dual intel core
4 gigs ram
nividia g100 512mb (this is oem similar to 9400gt series, it factory with pc)
vista 64bit

so i just setup the pc and removed virus stuff and firewall crap
did the same resolution:running pf in 1920x1080 and bglass 1024x768

and the result is a little less then my laptop.

i havent looked for any updated drivers for the nvidia card, that will be my next step...

SO, MY QUESTION IS:

TO RUN FUTURE PINBALL IN MAXED OUT SETTINGS (EXCEPT GAMEROOM RENDER)

WHAT KIND OF SPECS DOES YOUR PC HAVE TO RUN IT AT ALMOST FULL SPEED OR FULL SPEED?

ps. i didnt update vist 64bit, i thought i shouldnt because it was dedictated to the pincab, do you think i might need to?
any recomendations would be great!

thx, magostin

I would say that your video card is the weakest link in your setup. CPU/Memory is fine. I'm using a ATI HD4850 with 1GB RAM that I picked up for $199 and it runs FP great. If you want to stick with a Nvidia card, a Geoforce GTX275 or GTX260 would look great. You can get the GRX260 for around $199.

this setup runs fp fullspees for me with all bells and whistles, vsync, and 4x antialysis:
amd x2 6000+ 3ghz
4gb ram
nvidia 9800gtx+ 1gb
xp pro 32 bit

I turn off all virus/firewall stuff. runs smooth. I think video card makes the biggest difference in fp, the ball used to stutter a little, but using vsync smoothed out any issues I had.
