I did a few more movie themes. But this time I added a video for all the Themes I have done. Let me know what you think?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0uvV9_-shw

1. Bee Movie
2. Ghost Rider
3. Gladiator (new)
4. Iron Man
5. National Treasure (new)
6. National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets (new)
7. The Incredibles (new)
8. Tomb Raider 2: Cradle of Life (new) Best one so far.

I still to work with the Videos, but I need to find a better Video Editor.

Looks really good. Only suggestion I would make is to add a video border for the ones without it. Nice work!

How the hell did you make the bee do that, are you an expert in flash mate ??
I have to say its dam good.

yeah that bee animation is probably close to the best animations I've seen in HS. It looks like it was ripped straight from the movie - or a CG studio release.

okay i know its really nice to have a mad theme for each movie but its a massive effort to create a theme for all movies out there. plus the rate at which you can get a movie is super way faster then anyone can pump out a movie theme... wouldnt it make more sense to have just a generic movie theme and go through your list using the one theme?

there should as also be default themes for any mame games with a theme of their own.... in fact a default theme for every system in hyperspin so that you dont just get a empty screen with just the name of the rom or movie... the default theme for mame should at least show the video caputre of that rom...

it would be as easy as setting that theme to your xml list right for each title in the database that doesnt have its own right ?.... or even better and more efficient have hyperspin check and if it cant find a theme for that title then get it to use the default instead of blank

already possible Chito. The beauty of HS is you can configure the look to however you like. I agree it would be hard to create themes for every movie/game/etc. but I think the best part of this forum, HS itself, is that people share whatever they create for themselves and it's pretty cool to see how creative some people get.

Great work steverick! The animations are top notch!

Well we dont have to make themes for every movie, we make for the ones we like. and if enough people make movie themes then in enough time it will be a great collection.

I prefer to have great movie themes like stevericks because he adds flash and the themes look so profeshional and and enjoyable to look at, like billpa said there top notch and they are i love them. But yes as billpa said you can make hyperspin look the way you want it, im just hoping many more people jump on the movie themes so soon we will have a great collection like our mame section.

It really amazes me how powerful hyperspin is. This stuff is borderline artwork. Your themes are great. You should have a deviant art profile and post your work... btw there is some great artwork available there

I'm really surprised everyone like the Bee Movie theme better, I didn't work half as hard on that compared to the Tomb Raider. LOL

But here's a few more with a Youtube video again. I worked out the video issues 400 x300 and added borders to all videos.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtchY2pJ7wc

1. LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring - Best one
2. LOTR: Return of the King - Possibly Sucks
3. LOTR: Two Towers - Good one
4. X-Men: Last Stand - A real Good one

Again feedback always appreciated.

can the swf files in these themes have Actionscript? or interactivity? has anyone tried that?

Darkmindz
05-11-2009, 12:53 AM
I dont know mate what would the action script do? im not cluded up on flash, all i know is im jelous and intimedated by hes new themes, ive been doing some of my own and i end up scraping them coz they look to plain.

Steverick your themes are just top noch stuff you have eye for design just like koolbreze who did the games for windows themes.

Could you please help me and others on here to learn how to do these animations in flash.

You have one theme with the ring and the backround movement its looks unreal great stuff, and the fire in your theme its so realistic, ive used tutroials in the past on making fire and they look crap , there nothing like the ones your making. share your sercets man :)

I want to start my own collection on movie thems, i have 300 themes i want to start on and most of the are 80s and 90s classics, i want to learn flash in a big way but the tutroials out there are rubbish.

Could you make a you tube video at all to teach us some of your skills please mate, that way many of us can do more movie themes with the quality like yours.

yup they can have action script - as long as your swf supports it (which it does b/c swf is actionscript based - I recommend 3.0)

for example my knuckle bash theme I simply used stop() to keep the theme from looping.

There's really no secret tricks involved and I sure am not a Flash guru. Most of what I am using is Screensavers and pulling SWF's from official Movie sites, then working with them in Flash. But I'm not really creating anything from scratch. As of Yet anyway. To me Flash is a monster program and I probably will never probably fully understand it all.

Tools I'm using.....

1. Cam Studio - To capture video (screensaver, flv, swf, etc)
2. SWF and FLV Player - Reviewing or might use together w/1.
3. Orbit downloader w/Grab it++ - able to grab swf files from website
4. Sothink SWF Decomplier - able to make the swf files usable in Flash after getting from website
5. Adobe Flash Pro - Manipulate Swf and Flv files, (this is a Real Pain in the Arse) then export working files into SWF autoscript 3.0 files to use in Hypertheme
6. Blaze Pro - convert files to flv size 1024x768 (software is junk)
7. Adobe Photoshop CS4 - manipulate Desktop backgrounds from movie sites
8. Screen Grab Pro - Capture a still in a movie
9. Magic Video Converter - Helps with Flv files, able to up the quality of the Video
10. Ultra Video Joiner - Joining video, I'm getting better w/flash don't use as much anymore
11. Virtual Dub - When Blaze take a dump on editing video, but makes hugh files
12. Avidemux 2.4 Qt4 - great for taking out the green screen out of trailers, but must go back and convert the video back flv from avi.

I hope this helps out some.

I have a couple more done, for preview on youtube, by tomorrow. I'll post a link when I do it.

if you want to learn flash there are great tutorials by cartoonsmart (http://www.cartoonsmart.com/) for as little as $10. if you want something more in depth try the training packages from Total training (http://www.totaltraining.com) or lynda (http://www.lynda.com/)... they are the major players in CS4 training. you can also find other schools around. but once your into flash its hard to let go. and it will keep coming in handy

Darkmindz

yes your doing the same as me but your using more programs for better quality.

Adobe Flash Pro - Manipulate Swf and Flv files, (this is a Real Pain in the Arse) then export working files into SWF autoscript 3.0 files to use in Hypertheme >>>

Ok yes this one is a pain in the as and if bill changed it to take avm2 flash then it would make life peice of piss.

to be honest i was making my own ripping flash files and trying to edit them, i got fustrated because when i tryed to edit them evert thing went tits up. to be honest im crying out for someone to help us, i love making movie themes i have 300 i need to do but i cant start until i have have the right tips in flash. i want my themes to be excelent every one to have great quality. its just the avm2 that is bugging me.

Bad boy bill is there some way for you to edit the theme creator for all files to accept avm2 so all the ripped falshed files i have can slot right in, because a lot of them wont work even when i try and convert them to autoscript 3.0

steverick I think if you switched to MediaCoder you could eliminate about 4 or 5 of the programs on your list as it can transcode/recode, crop, edit, join, split, etc...

Just try to find a .6 version as in .7 they added some naggy popup asking to donate when you're doing batch transcodes (50 or more). It's a wonderful piece of software.

Please excuse me is this is a total noob question. But where can I get the movie themes for this fantastic work of steverick. Or any movie themes really. I want to try to use some of these as examples to do some other movies. Thanks in advance for any help.:itsme:

I think movie themes would be easier. At least in the sense of available high quality artwork. Much easier to search the net or scan posters and dvd covers, than to find some of this 30 year old artwork in good shape.

EmuMovies is Hosting the Movie Themes. That's where I uploaded over 200+ Set made by Aabra's Set, along with a few I made.

I created a theme for each of my 200+ movie collection, which includes the trailer video and original CD art (it animates in and either spins or pulsates). Then, literally right when I finish, I come across XBMC (I know, I don't search much) and have since implemented that. Ugh.
