View Full Version : Propaganda's Hyperspin Cab

Here is a pic of my hyperspin cab with terrible flash from the camera on the screen.

The marquee was designed by me and printed by Brent from http://www.emdkay.net. The pic of the pac man/woman was grabbed from the net. The font if anyone is an amiga fan is the psygnosis font.

The grey and red front surfaces are Mac-Tac, nice stuff, relatively inexpensive, but hard as hell to apply smoothly. The sides of the cab are gloss black Mac-Tac. The PC beside it is unrelated to the cab. The hyperspin pc is inside the case. :-)

I am looking for general comments and suggestions for POSSIBLE additional artwork. I personally would like the artwork to be very minimalistic. I still have to replace the plexy glass for the monitor area, the original is really scratched up.

Let me know what you think.

he said that computers nothing to do with the cabinet, just happens to be there.

I like it too.
The only thing I'd change is the different coloured buttons on the control panel, I have my panel like this also and have decieded to change to just 2 colours becaue I think they look out of place and dont match the marquee.
Just my 2pence

I like the look of the cabinet except for the colourful buttons as well.

What are the 2 blue buttons on the front of the cabinet for? Originally I thought player 1 and 2 but then noticed that they are on the top of the panel.

3rd paragraph of the original post: "The PC beside it is unrelated to the cab. The hyperspin pc is inside the case. :-)"

These buttons are mapped to ENTER and ESC on the keyboard. I didn't want to go with the shift functions of the ipac.

I also have 4 buttons on the top of the cab that are not seen:

1. Player 1 Coin (The coin mechanism itself works also)
2. Player 2 Coin
3. TAB - Options for mame
4. P - Pause in mame and mapped to pause for other emulators.

I don't really like the multicolor buttons myself either. They don't match the cab theme. I would prefer that they were a mix of black and red, I just haven't gotten around to ordering them yet.

So I finally changed the buttons on the cab! :) I also swapped the scratched plastic screen protector for a new glass one.

I got them from Paradise Arcade he has a simple store and is also selling the items on ebay. Here is the website: Paradise Arcade (http://sites.google.com/site/arcadeparadisehi/home/Parts-for-Sale) He is a super nice guy operating out of Hawaii. He even sent some macadamia chocolates with the order...

The buttons I installed are chrome with LED lights. He also does custom inserts/graphics on the buttons! Nice! They were $2.50 each plus an additional $0.50 for the custom insert ones (P1, P2, enter, exit)

He can also do the Hyperspin/HyperPin circle logo on the buttons in color!!!! I'm sure that would look awesome.

As you will see in the pictures below, my enter/exit button fonts match the marquee font.

Here are the pics, let me know what you think, especially the difference from the multicolor buttons.

Nice cab.

Do you have pics of your coin mechs. I have the same coin doors and I am trying to find another coin mech to match my existing one and wire them up for light and quarter accepting. Just to take my cab to the next level.

Looks great man. Did you ever get a chance to do anything with that other cabinet I gave you?
