My name is Scott Jones. I am 37 years old and live in Baltimore Murderland, I mean Maryland. I have been a video game junky since the early eighties. Never got too much into pinball since there were really no machines where i grew up in central Maryland. When i discovered MAME it was a dream come true. Eventually i founf Pinmame and VP and then FP. Since that point in time i have been a pinball fanatic. There's only about 3 or 4 real tables here in the baltimore area so vp has been a god send.
A little about me: I've been a chef/restaurant manager for about 15 years, slowly working on a computer information systems degree. I'm married then divorced now living happily with my girlfriend and our 4 cats.
The funny thing is, i think i enjoy building and converting tables as much or more than actually playing them, although the tournaments have gotten me more into actually playing them. Well i guess i shouldn't go into any gruesome details of my life so that's it.
This is a fantastic idea for a thread.

My name is Brian Hoffman, I am 28 years old and I live in Southern California. I'am an emulation enthausiast. I have been in the scene for a long time. As a kid I always wanted my own arcade machine. As an adult I can say that my dream has come true.
I have two kids (Jacob and Emily) and they are twins. They are turning two this week.
I have been together with my wife for ten years.
I own many older consoles and some newer ones. I am very lucky that my wife supports my passion for gaming. It seems I never have time to actually play the games though.

Yo guys,
Well, i thought i'd take a minute to post a little about myself...
For those of you i havent spoken too, i'm Tim Reid. I'm 23 years old and live in Melbourne, Australia. I first got into arcade games during my primary school years, when alot of my friends had birthday parties at the local arcades. I loved playing four player super sprint, MK3, NBA Jam, most of the popular 90s games.
I always found pinball interesting. Being a kid in during the 90's meant that i was a bit young to really understand the rules and the aim of pinball. Where i live, the cinema had a games room that was always kept up to date with the latest tables, which usually matched the current film releases at the time. E.g Hook, Batman, Addams Family etc...
I always played them, because my Dad loves them, but never really felt like i was 'doing' anything.
As well as arcade and pinball, i also love consoles. Particularly Nintendo. I have a cupboard full of consoles, but dont have them set up, due to space etc...I love the N64, i think that has some of the best games. Super Mario 64, Zelda, Goldeneye, Rouge Squadron, StarFox.
I have just finished my teaching degree, and it seems like i'm always running around at 110%. I teach part time, i work at the cinema on the weekend, i run a shoe shop in the city three days a week. I also love converting VP tables, and learning new methods to enhance them visually and mechanically.
My family is very important to me. I have a younger brother 18, sister 20, girlfriend 19, and a great mum and dad. My younger brother is still at highschool, and loves driving around helping me take photos of the local pins to help with conversions, and playing video games.
My sister works as a medical receptionist, and loves keeping fit.
My girlfriend Shaina is my best friend, and the perfect girlfriend. She is beautiful, and funny-and i couldnt be happier. I have spent many an hour working on my projects, which really do take up alot of my time; and she's ok with that. She is at uni studying nursing, and she is always willing to come and play pinball with me in the city.
My Father owns an engineering firm in our town, which really does help when it comes to projects that require custom steel work etc. He himself loves a good project, and he has been a wealth of knowledge growing up, and learning about different tools, types of timber, patience etc. He also loves video games, and has really been bitten again by the pinball bug, since i started my pin cab.
Mum is an accountant, and the perfect mum. I dont really need to go into detail to much, everyone loves their mum!
Well, thats really it from me, i really did ramble alot; but this forum is such a great place to be a part of, and its great to get to know all you guys.
Just some photos of the most important people in my life...

Hey everyone,
My name is Bill. I am 31 years old...married with 2 kids (boys).
I came across HyperSpin over at the BYOAC forums when BBB posted a small YouTube video over a year ago. At the time, I was looking to work on a project and it seemed like I could contribute in some way. Luckily BBB thought I was talented enough to help :P
I am a big fan of arcade games as well as the older consoles (Atari through N64). I am not really into the later consoles but I am sure I will be as my sons get older and want their own.
A few of my friends were really into pinball in college. I went to Penn State and we had a really great arcade called Play Land that is unfortunately now closed. It was pretty big and they packed in quite a few machines....always having the retro standbys plus the latest and greatest games along with a couple dozen pins.
I was never really into pinball at that time mostly due to not understanding the rules. Fast forward 10 years...I started playing with Future Pinball after a generic theme was released for HyperSpin. When I was browsing their forum, I realized that there wasn't a good front end for Future or Visual Pinball. Some people were using Maximus Aracde, but it didn't look good imo. So I called BBB up and told him he should make one...haha. I never knew he would come up with something so cool.
After HyperPin was released, I started to get together the components to put together a mini pin. I am almost ready to start ripping some wood to build the cab and my 3 year old son is pretty stoked. Right now, my rig is set up on my workshop bench so we can play occasionally (which probably doesn't help with getting the project done...ha)
BTW...great idea for a thread Rossi!

Well, I guess since I have started posting and not just lurking, I should introduce myself. My name is Kirk Beasley, I live in Evansville Indiana, and I am 41 years old (which I think makes me one of the elders here). I have been married to my wife, Donna, for 16 years (see pic below and, no, that is not me in the middle, I am the pudgy guy with the cheesy mustach on the left). I have worked at a place called Interstate Imaging for 14 years where I service X-ray and imaging equipment in hospitals. My wife owns a marketing company called Praxis Communications. They specialize in patient recruitment for drug studies.
I started playing pinball about 10 years ago when my brother bought me Pro Pinball's Timeshock for my PC. I became somewhat addicted and started going around town looking for real pinball machines to play. A friend and I actually built a stand up cabinet with flipper buttons and all so we could make the Pro Pinball games more realistic. It still works and we play it quite a bit. I would love to have the Pro Pinball games on my new cabinet but I don't think that is possible.
I have collected a few pinball machines over the years. I have a Twilight Zone, an Addams Family, a Star Trek TNG, and a Gottlieb Stargate. Oh, and of course, my Hyperpin enabled Floor Space pinball machine. I have included a picture of it so far. It is a work in progress so ignore the hacked up Stargate translight, the wierd speaker panel artwork, the lack of a coin door, etc...
You may have figured out by the picture with my wife what else I am in to. I hope Billpa doesn't hold that against me as he lives close to the football team I hate more than any other. I hope that green shirt your wearing has to do with Christmas. If you happen to be an Eagles fan, please don't mention the last game of the season. I am still in recovery over that.... Just Kidding
Thanks for listening

You and I are in the same profession. I work for Western Diagnostic. We refurbish and repair x-ray machines like GE RFX and use new CPI generators and CMT digital etc... Anyway I work on machines and install PACS systems.
Fun Stuff.

Cool Brian, I know the CPI Generators very well. We sell a brand called Quantum and before they had their own generator, all the systems came with CPI. We have also sold a few Huestis (They have a different name now that I can't remember) refurb GE RFX systems that had the CPI with Infimed Digital. Hey, maybe we should be buying them from you!!
And as for you Billpa, at least we have a couple of things in common; we both love pinball and hate T.O.

Hello, my name is Alex Ralph I'm from Edmonton Alberta Canada.
I was first introduced to emulation way back 10 years ago or so. It wasn't until a few years ago I really got into it when I came across a popular retro game site and have been actively back into emulation since I joined it.
I own a 1963 Rock-Ola Jukebox a few arcade machines (some extra JAMMA PCB's) and I transferred one to a 48 in 1 a couple of years ago.
I've heard of HyperPin for a while (seen the YouTube video), but just the other day your FE was mentioned on another discussion forum, it tweaked my interest enough to check out you site and download it.
I've always want a pinball machine but couldn't see me actually getting a good one on my budget.
The HyperSpin program is awesome, better than I imagined. For me the beauty is in the simplicity of it. Paid for Gold almost immediatly, plus the FTP makes it soooo much easier.
The wife likes the look of the program as well and asked me when I was finally going to get around to building my MAME cab, lol, she must really be impressed, and is looking forward to me building a PinCab next.
So nice to meet everyone.
PS, If you ever see me posting anything that doesn't make since, I'll apologize right now as it's just me drunk posting, LOL.
Hello, my name is Alex Ralph I'm from Edmonton Alberta Canada.

I didn't even know this thread existed. Anyways, My name is Ed, I'm 42 and live in Northwest Indiana. I work for the Canadian National railroad as a Conductor. I have degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. I have always had a huge obsession with video games going back to when my grandma brought grandpa a Pong home console from Sears sometime in the mid 1970's. I've been big into pinball since "The black Knight" was new in the arcades. I discovered Hyperspin/Hyperpin while looking for a new frontend for my Mame 3.0 cabinet. Then I got sidetracked by making a fullsize Hyperpin Cabinet. Thanks to all the people here for everything they contribute to the development of these 2 great frontends and addons!!
Nice to know you all!

KirkYea! Another Cowboys fan!
Alrighty, I'll just post my info here... I'm a big Pinball fan and keep up with the Pin scene, but I can't afford to build a pincab so I don't post in this forum much.
Anyway, I'm the 3rd Bill, aka Billy, that's involved with the HyperSpin/HyperPin project. I'm 34 yeas old. Born & raised in the state of Dallas / Fort Worth in the great country of Texas. I work for Expedia.com and handle the hotel database for Expedia.com & Hotels.com.
I'm not married yet, but getting there really soon. Have a wonderful woman named Michael and 2 wonderful children. I have a 12 year old daughter named Tayler and a son named Xen age 8. Thankfully due to my heavy involvement in the arcade and computer gaming scenes, both of my kids have turned into pretty good gamers. With my love of emulation and my cabinet my kids have been able to play and enjoy more classic games than people 3 times their ages.
I currently do not have a pincab, but I have one completely planned out and will build as soon as I can finally afford the parts. My fiance was recently laid off from her job of 8 years, so that has set my plans to build back a bit. I am, however, a BIG pinball fan. The first pinball machine that I played was a Gottlieb & Co. Road Race pinball, circa 1969, at my grandfathers restaurant when I was fairly young. My family has a picture of me sitting on the cabinet reaching down and playing using 1 button and my grandfather on the other. The building burned down shortly after and nearly destroyed everything. About the only thing standing was this pinball machine. It had survived with broken glass and a couple small burn marks. The machine was given to me when I was 2 years old and have had the machine ever since. The machine still resides in my grandfathers garage and will be moving to my house once we get a nice weather night and I have access to a truck at the same time. Needless to say that this machine has more sentimental value than it is worth.
Video game wise, I've been collecting since I first touched an Atari 2600. I have every console that has been released ever since. I compete every year in PC gaming tournament at Quakecon.
As far as HyperSpin goes... I hooked up with Bill early in the project as a tester. I think I was the first one to create a theme other than Bill or Billpa. I've sortta been integrated into the core team and handle more of the site admin stuff.
BTW - this form has really become one of the great places for everything Pincabs. I think HyperPin gave the home pincab scene a HUGE boost and introduced many new people to the hobby.

I knew there had to be more Dallas fans out there, however, after this weekend, we may want to hide. I am not looking forward to playing the Saints. Anyway, welcome to Alex Ralph, you will be in good hands with Rawd close by. He's got some awsome skills in building cabinets AND playing them. Iceman5000, I live in southwest Indiana. I'm actually in Morinville 20 mins north of Edmonton. I will definatly have to check out your cabs sometime. I`ll have to bring the wife with me, she`s a big pinball fan and if she`s impressed we`ll be picking up a 42 inch in no time (for me) to build one.
I`m pretty much a noob to this HyperSpin thing (2 days), I`m just trying to tweek an emulator right now to work, not having much luck, will have to read more up on it in the FAQ and troubleshooting topics. I think their are some programs to configure HyperSpin the emulator and the roms, oh well, I`ll figure it out later. Just a big learning curve right now.
I`m a little tired from staring at this monitor all day, gonna go to the garage, have a beer and watch Sportsnet.

Hello! I've only just noticed this thread!
I'm Gary, 26 from England. I grew up in a seaside town (Southend-on-Sea, Essex) so there were always loads of arcades/pubs/pool halls etc. to hang around in. I mainly used to play the 90's Capcom/SNK stuff, but I think most of the arcades just have stuff like SEGA Rally variants and Time Crisis style shooters now. I also remember spending LOADS of my Grandad's money when he took me to SEGA World at the Trocadero in London when I was a kid. The Model 2 emulator brings back many fond memories for me!
I'm currently a student nurse and plan on travelling a lot with my girlfriend (also a student nurse) when we qualify. I'm off to Nepal in January for a month as one of my placements for my course and I really can't wait! I love the USA as well, been to Boston, New York & have family in Chicago.
Speaking of which, I'm a Bears fan and I play football for my university. I play O-line, D-line and a bit of special teams every now and then. Please bear in mind this isn't that same as playing college football in the states! Your average high school team would beat the snot out of most teams over here!
Anyway, nice to meet you all! I wonder if there's any other Brits on here?

Have to agree with Dazz...HyperPin has really given a boost to pinball simulation. The amount of actual projects going on lately is pretty amazing!
