Well i just trasfered hyperspin from this comp to another one and I can't seem to launch games.. my path's are set up correctly and I don't want to move any of my emulators / roms because they are all currently set up for use with other front ends very frustrating no games will launch

I got a "dont open .... .nes" error ?? hyperspin froze

Try that command line from the cmd prompt, looks like it might be a nes problem, since you got an nes error.

Any reason your not using Nestopia.. In my opnion its better.
Of course opnions are like *******s... And Im a big *******.. Thats why you guys are stuck using my default configs...

Seriously tho... The command looks ok (as in no errors.) Id do what Billy suggested then google to see if your missing some paramaters eg -load or somethin

load up HyperHQ click wheel editor click nes from list then change Rom Extension Zip to nes click save and try that.

I know this is an old thread, but I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction for setting up VirtuaNES to work with Hyperspin. Nestopia has a well-documented vsync/input lag problem that affects a lot of people (including me), however, VirtuaNES works perfectly for me. I tried changing the emulator path, but I get the following message:

"Nintendo Entertainment System is an Invalid System Name or Virtuanes.exe is not supported yet."

Any input on how I can get this working would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks so much.

In HyperHQ, go to the NES wheel and under the Emulator tab change Execution to "Normal"

Thank you very much for the reply. I did try this, and it gave me a different error message. Unfortunately I'm not home to try it right now and I don't remember the exact message, but I'll post it again tonight when I'm home.

In HyperHQ, go to the NES wheel and under the Emulator tab change Execution to "Normal"

When I set the Execution to "Normal" I get the following error message for every rom I try to open:

"ERROR - Don't open a C:\Hyperspin\Emulators\RomFiles\Nintendo\ROM NAME.zip file."

Any ideas how to fix this? VirtuaNES opens up all of my zip files perfectly fine when I launch them directly from the emulator w/o using Hyperspin.

In order to use VirtuaNES, edit the Hyperlaunch.ahk file. Search for Nestopia.exe and replace with VirtuaNES.exe. Once done, use Ahk2Exe to compile a new Hyperlaunch.exe. In your HyperSpin settings, make sure you have the option to use Hyperlaunch enabled, instead of normal. Furthermore, make sure you have a \ after the roms folder in your settings. If all is set correctly, you should be able to load roms within HyperSpin using VirtuaNES.
