View Full Version : Complete Unofficial Sega Genesis Wheel Art!
Well here it is guys! Enjoy! 786 verified and completed genesis wheel art (did not make one for Sonic & Knuckles + Sonic the Hedgehog as there is no box for it and it is apparently not playable). These are all verified matching the Hyperion database.
Thanks to Mildanti for doing letters V through Z!
Thanks to Sopht for some of the boxes/art which was a big help!
It is already up on the ftp, and here is the link to the mediafire download:

I will also be uploading all of the source material I used for the project to the ftp for those who might be interested (Looks at Sopht) as I found a lot of useful boxes in my searching which may come in handy. Just a note: These are not renamed or anything, just a big collection of the stuff, and I know there are several duplicates in the mix as well as I would download mulitple files for certain games to find the best one to use as source material. I will mark it as such when I upload it.
EDIT: Genesis source material is now uploaded to the ftp in the boxart area.

Thank you guys . Wow that was a big project. I am looking forward to see the extra artwork. I was planning on doing a 3D bix set. I guess now that the wheel art is done I will have to start it.
I think Sopht was planning on doing a 3d box set for this? Might want to check so you both aren't doing one.
On another note I am thinking probably game gear next? I haven't checked but I assume the majority will just be able to be copied over from genesis.

Thank you so much! Prior to me using Hyperspin I spent a long time looking for decent quality Genesis box art, mostly to no avail, so I can imagine what an arduous task this must have been!

Ya I was just looking or the game gear stuff . You might have only do about 25 of them. The rest you could easily fill in with the sega genesis
Sweet then I'll probably start on game gear in the next day or two, gonna take a short break for now!
Oh and the source material is uploading to the ftp now, should be done in an hour or two, I'll post when it finishes.

dpar, there is not much good source material available on the internet for Sega Game Gear. What I have been able to find is up on the FTP in the wip user themes/wip directory. You can also find some Game Gear covers on thecoverproject.net that I haven't integrated into my collection that would be good for wheel art extraction. You might also check the Sega Saturn master set on the FTP for some hi-res artwork. I updated it last week. One thing you could do is go to gamefaqs.com and search on the name of the game to see what other systems it was released on, and that might give you some more choices for hunting down good source material.
And thank you so much for the Genesis collection! That was a doozy. I think the only huge sets left now are GBA, PSX and MAME.
Yeah I've got a lot of sources already for sega stuff so I think I'll be able to find what I need ok, especially since there aren't too many I'll have to do anyway.
BTW the genesis source stuff is now on the ftp as well.

koolbrez and I are gonna split the 3d Genesis boxes using Mildanti's Templates and your wheels - go team work!
Good Idea!
Well I've got 172 of the game gear wheel art done already from renaming from the other systems. So game gear shouldn't take too long to complete.
