Need some help! I am loving this Front-End, I have it working great with Future Pin, I have set up for Visual Pin, when I load a table screen goes black for a few seconds I hear a error sound, then screen returns to wheel. Log shows no errors. Am I missing something simple here?
Thanks!

2 things to try...
1. Have you opened the table up from the VP editor first? The first time a screen comes up that you need to click yes to. After that, you don't have to. So you always need to launch a table from the editor first before you use it in HyperPin. Also, this will be a good chance to make sure the game works before you launch it with HyperPin.
2. Download the latest FPlaunch if you haven't yet. This solves some of the launching problems.

Try renaming visual pinball to vpinball.exe
Also, have you edited the Visual Pinball xml at all? A corrupt XML usually gives you a black screen.

Hi there, I'm getting exactly the same problem as leachdude, I'ce done a fresh install of vp including all the updates plus cabinet.dll. I've also only downloaded the vp9 tables from this site and ensured that the names are in the database. The tables all load and play in Vp editor and I save them afterwards before coming into HP. I've aslo ensured that the scripts are modified as per the HP instruction guide. The settings ini file is correctly configured. I've spent the last 3 days trying to figure this out. I can't see how it can be a graphics card or pc problem as it runs fine in VP9 editor. It just seems to go black in HP then beep and return to the wheel? Any ideas / suggestions greatly appreciated!!! many thanks Tommy
One more suggestion:
I ran into this myself with Vista. I was running VP as admin, but I didn't have HP set to run as admin, and I got the exact same thing as you guys. It would go black, beep, and return to HP. Not sure if you're on Vista, but it's all I could think of.

thanks for all the advice, it turns out that because the exe was name vpinball_9_0_2.exe rather than vpinball.ext in the settings script it would not load even though the script pointed to the 9_0_2 file name!?! I changed after reading the note from billpa. Anyway, I just played theatre of magic which is excellent. Just need to sort out the backlite not displaying fully now and I can look into making a cabinet. Thanks for all your help. Tommy
Had exactly same problem with the vp exe being named 9-0-2 and the launcher returning back to hyperpin menu.
Is it worth adding this to future help files, to delete the original vp.exe and rename vp9-0-2.exe to vp.exe.
This has had me baffled for about 2 hours - now back to resetting up !!
Cheers Buzz

Fortunately I only spent a few minutes instead of hours to figure out why Hyperpin wouldn't load VP since the settings.ini file was pretty straight forward. What is the point of even having an option to change the executable file name if it will only look for Vpinball.exe
Just thought I would bump this thread up to save someone else from pulling their hair out. Thanks guys!
