Hi,

I certainly hope you can help. I feel I am so close to getting to play pinball on my two monitors and I just need this bit of advice.

It seems regardless of how I set the show_games parameter in settings.ini, true or false, I can not get any of my Visual Pinball games to display. Every game says it is missing the fpt file which obviously points to Future Pinball. I double and triple checked the directory structure for visual pinball, and it is set correct with no spelling errors. The only thing I can think of is I did not use the default directory paths. Vpinball works fine when ran by itself.

One added note is I am not using Hyperspin as my laptop can not handle the animations. Thanks for the help.

show_games only means that it shows up on the wheel, not whether the game is actually playable or not, you need to check the path of your exe and the exe name are correct. The fpt missing file error is a typo, it should say vpt. But besides that post your ini file settings here so we can see. Dont forget to download the latest fplaunch in the download area also.

Sorry for not clarifying, but the directory path also has c:\future pinball in the error. I currently do not have any future pinball games on the HD as I want to play games of my past.

Here is my settings.ini. C:\pinmame is correct as to where my VP files are located. Thanks for the help.

Ok, I just double checked and you're right.. the # of games jumps from 120 to 170 when I have both show games set for true. However, every game that it stops on says that c:\futurepin\Tables\gamename.fpt is not found. I just can't understand why none of my vpt files are being found when vpinball works by itself in the pinmame dir.

are the table names the same as in the xml database?

No they weren't. I would have never figured that out. I renamed Back to the Future and it got me farther along this time, but the program locked up without error. It's 1 AM here, so I'll call that a good stopping point. Looks like it's going to be a chore renaming them if there isn't a place to d/l them all at once.

I did notice that some classics like Attack from Mars and Addams Family were missing from the XML. Are they going to be implemented later, or is it as simple as adding the game to the list?

Thanks for the help. Almost there.

download the visual pinball table pack that uncle willy posted it has bout 50 tables then download the newer ones from the table anoucement section
that should stop you from renaming but you will have to add to your xml file the tables in the table anouncement section

yeah download the table pack from unclewilly's post
http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2778&highlight=torrent and they will all run staight out of the box as they are set to run with hyperpin, if you get VP tables from anywhere else other than this site, then you'll need to manually adjust and modify the tables to run properly with hyperpin.

That would be nice to have. Looks like both the torrent and the zip are both offline. Can anyone reupload them to megaupload (preferred) or rapidshare?

Also, I am getting a weird problem and I am wondering if it's due to my setup of the Playfield_Monitor being secondary and backglass being primary (this is a dedicated pinball setup). The game starts out like its going to work but crashes. When I kill the backglass task in task manager, the playfield is sitting BEHIND the backglass on the primary monitor (even though the secondary monitor does show the playfield correctly. Can someone temporarily swap the secondary and primary in the settings.ini to see if you get these strange results?

*Update*

My problem actually is a little different. The backglass PC (laptop) goes black, and hitting any buttons give the windows beep sound and that's it. I can't play any pinball as that poster said. The resolution matches the PC in the settings.ini so any other help would be appreciated.

read, read, read, if you read past the first post on the thread i mentioned you'll see down the bottom of the very first page that there is both what you are asking for... megaupload and rapidshare

Looks like I'm out of luck, but it also looks like I'm not the only one with the problem.

I don't have a choice but to keep the secondary above the primary as my primary is a laptop and the secondary is a vertically set HDTV.
