Check out this post on arcadecontrols.com

I have said my two cents on the matter.

Did Hyperspin "borrow" from the FE of Arcade Legends / Classics by Joshua Tech? (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=83442.msg871616#msg871616)

I just fed the troll too. eheh seriously, I can see why some would ask that question but there's nothing wrong with being inspired by something that looks cool. MS have made millions doing that :)

LOL, well I just linked to a few of the posts that have already discussed this in depth. It's a non issue, but I always laugh about stuff like this when you think that its software to run a bunch of emulators and roms. :top:

Well nothing tangable is borrowed.. JoshuaOS is the propreitay linux install Ultracade runs on. None of thier art is used. None of thier code is used..

HS just mimics the behavior.

HS just mimics the behavior.

And in some cases it does it better.

Ultracade's FE is not available to the masses and hyperspin is... Thus I love Hyperspin.

Sure Did :)

Well looks like Dazz pretty much ended the conversation over there lol, but seriously the guy is just causing trouble. He wrote that long thought out post complete with pics but never bothered to do a Hyperspin, Ultracade search?? Im not buying it at all.

Hi, I've just discovered this Great new FE project thanks to Dazz's advertising, and from reading through all the drama at BYoac to get to some real info about this FE, I think I'll stay here where it's more positive. I've always been a Maximus user but major eye candy releases have been few and far in between. Keep up the work looks great so far.

OK, I need to retract this comment, I spoke to the person and realized I actually know him, and know him to be a stand up guy, damn anonymous internet lol. Anyway I was a bit quick to judge and I will leave it at that.

I've been following alot of threads on BYOAC Forums and I must say I am very disappointed with some of the member's attitude towards Hyperspin....espcially some of the frontend creators.

It almost appears as if they are so jealous and that they will try anytning and everything to post a negative comment about hyperspin. Sigh.

My suggestion is just to ignore them.

Note: I am not talking about this thread in particular but all of them as a group.

I doubt I'm alone in saying that for some end-users out there, this frontend accomplishes something that many others do not. Ever since seeing the Ultracade/Ultrastyle interface I've been waiting to be able to use something similar on my machine, and Hyperspin's themes are even better than I could have hoped. They make each game feel more personal, and many of my casual guests just stand there scrolling through and talking about how they "remember playing this in..." -- I've never had that reaction with any other frontend I've used. In fact, I'd say at this point it's almost 50/50 frontend vs actual game time!

My thoughts exactly. When scrolling through the themes is more entertaining than playing most games, you know you have something special.

Anyone who has contributed to this great project should be very proud! :burnout:
