In process of a putting together a cabinet and am trying to gather opinions on what monitor would be the best for my setup. I have already spoke to a few people on this but want to get as many opinions as I can on the matter so, yours is important.
If I was just to emulate Mame I would no doubt buy the Wells monitor for my cabinet but that is not the case. I want to be able to run as many system emulators as possible with in this box and am afraid that newer emulated systems like Dreamcast and PSX will not fair well on the Wells.
Help please, this is a big purchase for me and I want to do it right.
Trying to decide between Mameroom and Dream Authentics to purchase from. Mameroom now offers a high res. monitor in there two player where Dream offers a Wells.
Thanks.

Well the cab I ended up with (basically I inherited an unfinished cab via a friend), it was a X-men VS Street Fighter, and before that it was something else, just not sure what. It's a short fat bastard, however I did end up buying a TV for it, but once I got it into my apartment, I realized that the Wells Gardner Monitor was a whopping 32"! So clearly I decided to go with that.
I emulate on there mame, nintendo, SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, 32X, Turbo Graphx, Atari, and Nintendo 64. All run smoothly and without problems.
I hope that helps a bit.

I have a 27" D9400 From Wells Gardner, and it works great for MAME, Dreamcast, SNES, N64 so on. Those games don't surpass 480p and this monitor does EGA,CGA,VGA resolutions great, anything up to 800x600. And the authentic look it gives is great. You may be able to save some money though as they are about 550.00 shipped. An old 27" Tv can do the trick as well.

Just curious, how does Hyperspin look on the 9400? My new cab will have a 9200.

If all goes well, I should be hitting it really hard in about 6 weeks. It's driving me crazy just sitting out in the gargage collecting dust. :banghead:

I kind of know what you mean... my cab was done last December... but I quickly threw it together for many reasons, time mostly. Also it was my first attempt and I have learned so much from it. So I have been slowly 5 months or so started collecting and buying parts for it. And hopefully when I get done and am ready to install my FE this is up and running in a more polished version. I'm happy so far with all of the progress. This is a truly excellent beginning for a front end.
Oh and I do blame you for my renewed interest in a nicer CP. Your first cabs CP has haunted me ever since I laid eyes on it.
And don't get me started with the Juke! I finished mine and then a week later you posted the finished pics and I nearly cried. (It was a manly cry I assure you :burnout:)

Thanks for that, and.....sorry for making you cry.
Just wait until you see the new CP for the Fantasy Cab. I have the artwork and all of the "accessories" in hand. I am dying to put it together.
I really want to make a Hyperspin themed cabinet bad but the color scheme on the Fantasy cabinet is black and chrome. :bawling:
