Black Screen

Installed FP and HP. Everything was working fine. I've been installing new tables every night. Went to play a game and the first game always works fine. then when you choose another game and launch it, I get a black screen. I can exit using esc and I get the menu but second game will never show up. I restart the PC and the same thing happens every time. Any ideas?

I have never had this issue with hyperpin but others have.

I tried that and it seemed to work. Well kind of. The first time I run HP I get a black screen when I load the first table. When I launch another table it works fine. Seems to be only the first table load now. no worries I can deal with that as long as I can play.

Any idea how to get the flippers to be more responsive? It's like they have a dleayed reaction when i hit the shift keys. Wondering if I'll have this issue with my Happ controls.

I had the same flipper delay problem when I first tried FP. I fought with it for a week and then it just went away. Unfortunately I don't know why. I had a pretty
weak video card at the time, but a couple of people on the FP forums had the same issue with some really nice cards, so I don't think it is strictly the video card.

Try reducing the video/rendering options and turn off any extra programs (like virus protection) and see if that helps. I'm hoping somebody can get to the bottom of it, in case it happens again.

I had this issue with FP when I first started too, tried different vga card and different cpu in the end I think it was the video card as I was using 256 mb upgraded to 1GB everything runs nice and quick, what vga and cpu are you using ??? let everyone know

I have a 256MB ATI card. Upgrading to a 1gig card today. I'll see if that fixes the problem.

Flipper delay is typically a graphics card issue. You can play around with the render settings and it might help.

The first table launching to a black screen. What table is it? Can you launch it normally through FP? Has it been resized for your monitor because if it hasn't you might have to move it and stretch it for your monitor. Have you edited your FP xml at all or is it the original one that came with HP?

All the tables work in FP. When I load a table for the first time in HP it black screens. If I load the same table again it works fine. As fo r the flipper delay, I will try and play with the video card tonight before buying a new one.

Make sure in the fp editor you go to oprions and editor and uncheck the box that says load images into editor. this causes really slow loading times thus the black screen for a long period of time on some tables.
