There is an option now to show only roms that have "themes" for them, the "Wheels only" option would do the same but would only show games that have wheels for them. (would obviously include all the themes because all themes have wheels)
Would be great for MAME, since there are a bunch of MAME wheels being created that arent complete themes.
I currently have my cab set to display "Themes Only" for mame and would love an easy option to be able to dump all these great new wheels in there and check an option to show the games that have wheels for mame instead of just the ones that just have themes.
Let me know if that doesnt make sense

hopefully soon enough all the parent games will have wheels for mame making that option unnecessary - at this point I think that the mame wheels are 25%-33% of the way done, but all the major consoles have been finished so more energy can be focused on mame wheels.

For now, you could just use Hyperlist. Instead of pointing it to roms point it to your wheel [for wheels only] or your media\mame\theme [for themes only]. I think this is a work-around for Hyperlist's Show Themes Only option which can come up with the black screen.
You can then access through your genre key or rename the xml to "mame" so it pops up first thing when you enter the mame wheel.

Yes chillinwater's suggestion works great. was what i did when my show themes only only showed a black screen. just pointed it to my themes folder. Done the same for wheels in N64.

Sony Playstation isn't a major console? Gameboy Advance is minor?
Anyway, I really like the idea of a wheels only option. Sometimes on the consoles one or two entries are missing (especially after a DAT update) and it would be nice to be able to leave the holes out without having to modify the XML.
Another situation where this happens for me is if I do a complete XML with all the homebrews and prototypes and some of the fluff has wheel art and some doesn't.
And of course it would be useful for MAME as well. MAME will never be finished because it is constantly being updated.
