Hi all,

now, one of my fav consoles was the Sega cd (I know, theres not many of us) I spent countless hours playing this system.
However, the down side to this is that I remember all the games and the silly sounds, music ect and I now miss them if there are not there.
anyway....

I have got lots of the original sega cd disc's and I have got them running from the cd drive this works 100 % fine all music and sounds.

so what the problem ..
well, once I create an ISO or bin and cue file(s) the ISO will load and play but there is sound and music missing ??

I cant seem to get the cue or bin files to boot ?:banghead:

I think that it is something to do with it being a multi session disk 1 data mode and multi audio parts

has anyone come across this ?? or have most ppl not been as anal as me over getting this emulated as close to 100% as poss? and just used the iso and not bothered about the music ect ?

any help is greatly appreciated

thanks
sosfx

open up the cues in a text editor and make sure the paths are relative to the bin/wav files and not absolute.

Having trouble with this too but don't get the fix...must be being thick lol

What do you mean by 'not absolute'. I've opened the cue files and it shows the .iso first, then the .wav files in order after, it all matches up yet still no sound.

Well you are using fusion as the emulator correct?
What burning software are you using to rip the CDs?
Make sure the Cue files only list the filename. like "Wonderdog.bin if its says "d:\wonderdog.bin" you will get problems make sure there no drive letter only file name.

Using Gens. Games run perfectly with sound effects, just no music.

The cue file reads like this :

Unless the music files have to be .mp3 and not .wav?

check to see if .iso is supported fully with gens (or kega). I've read that iso format can cause loss of music, which is why bin/cue not cue/iso is the preferred formatting.

Just tried Kega/Fusion and it's exactly the same. I'll convert the .wav files to .mp3 and try again.

@jkr284

I know how much of a pain it can be getting this working and I would happy to lend a hand in getting this working for you.
it would be easy to talk about this in the chat room if you would like ?

Thanks for the offer but SophT was right it was the iso that was the culprit, all working fine now.

Cheers everyone
