Folks, I have been running some tests and am finding some fairly LARGE issues.

I think that I am the only one that is using the actual Flash 8 Video encoder that comes bundled with Flash. I believe everyone else is using UltraFLV. I know it's slower but for good reason. Example:

Turbo Grafix 16 - UltraFLV conversion (Unknow Settings) - 715MB

Turbo Grafix 16 - Flash 8 Encoder (High Settings) - 215MB

Quality on playback seems exactly the same and may even favor Flash 8 a litttle. Plus when I check info the Flash 8 encoder has more metadata than the UltraFLV.

I am thinking that it would be more helpful if folks that want to help with existing video sets do the following things. Rename existing set, make list of videos missing or needing to be replaced, upload avi's to emumovies server, I will handle encoding to ensure consistant output of the sets, as it is, I am re doing stuff that other people spent a good amount of time on.

I was just shocked by the huge difference in file size, I am going to put mame on a batch tonight and see what the results are.

Circo what kind of high power machine do you have to do these encodes/transcodes? Just curious :D
