Had to be done.... Its basic, but gets the job done for me. Dosbox fans hooray
The addon incudes 2 themes:
1. Doom
2. Duke Nukem 3d
Hyperspin PC Gaming Addon Pack
by Joe Scrapple Jenkins

For Hyperspin Front End - Add a pc wheel item
1. Download and unzip to your root hyperspin directory so that the files extract into proper directory.
2. add the following line to your Main Menu.xml file in your databases folder
<game name="PC Gaming" />
3. Fire Up, and enjoy. Your gonna have to configure your games with a launcher.

To get pc games running, add the following (from dazz)
PC games launch perfectly fine with HS as it is right now.
You will have a PC Gaming.ini file after you unzip this pack... in your settings you just need to set it up like this:

path = Z:\Pc games\
rompath = Z:\Pc games\lnk\
userompath = false
exe =
romextension = lnk
paramaters =
pcgame = true
pcgameextension = lnk
pcgameparamaters =
winstate = MAXIMIZED
You will need to create shortcut (.lnk) files for the game in the directory you set as the roms path. Of course you will need to use dir2xml to create your database file as the games in the database needs to be named to match the .lnk files.
Check the log.txt file after you exit hyperspin if you have any issues. It will tell you the problem.

Just finally got around to downloading this PC Gaming Wheel addon. Very nice job, and by looking at the contents and layout of the files in the zip, it's basically a clinic on how to make wheel add-ons.

Update:
Just updated the pc theme system pack download with about 15 new themes for pc games. Its in the queue to be approved. Most or all the games can be downloaded free on the net, and most use trackballs.

great work! been working on some pc themes myself too.. will upload a bunch soon.
not sure yet though how to lauch pc games yet from HS :)

Every single thread referencing this addon does not have a link to it. Where is it? It's not present on the ftp, in the downloads section, or any threads I've seen thus far? Is it no longer available?

I also want the pc games menu to have more than one game in it. the .ini file is set up as it says on most threads.

I believe you'll need a game executable name there next to exe =
for example: exe = chickeninvaders.exe
if there are any command line parameters they go with the parameters =
You'll have to change the theme name to match your executable to get the theme to work as well. The path should be the folder path for that game (ex: c:\ChickenInvaders)

The pcgame=true tells HS that it is a pcgame and it will just run the exe that the .lnk (shortcut) points to.
I'm pretty sure your issue is userompath = false needs to be true
does anyone have another link to this. it errors out whenever I try to download it. tried from 2 different pcs on separate networks.

Still doesnt work here either currently.
As it is, if I cant get the blankscreen (when running a game) or the pc games wheel setup I will likley dump hyperspin by end of summer or sooner.
HS is preferred and would be paid for once its working.
My #2 choice is very static and menu like (cowritten by me) and will get redone
per a rails effort (rubyonrails) as a exercise, and will get redone in VS8 otherwise.

Not sure if it is the pc addon...but i found what I think it is by going to downloads and scrolling thru the list of stuff there.. and there are 3-4 different theme/images/etc stuff there inclduing what I think is teh pcaddon...
Though it took a couple of days, my pcgames are working.
Biggest leftover issue on that only is that I didnt want to recreate shortcuts, I wanted to use the existing ones already in the default windows game folder.
Turns out those have extra stuff and/or stuff that a pure shortcut wouldnt normally have.
Manually recreating the shortcuts took care of things for hyperspin, though.
