In Theatre of magic...when the game is over...the dmd reads that you can continue with an extra ball ? Every key i hit cancels the option ? what key is this for getting the extra ball ? anyone plz ?

Make sure that at the end of the game that you have credits, then press "2". Open 'Vpmkeys.vbs' in your 'table' folder with notepad to check all the standard keys used. Cheers Drummy

Also can turn off the buy-in extra ball in the rom menu within the game. I've done this for my 90's games, as well as turning on free play.

Interestingly enough, from what I remember of Lawlor's speech at this years expo, TZ was the first game with the buy-in, and it was the direct result of management asking how they could generate extra revenue. Lawlor wanted it to be a situation where if you got to a certain point in the game you could pay to get something special to happen that wouldn't happen normally, but management wanted everyone to have the same chance to put another quarter into the machine. Its not a very good deal to only get one ball for a quarter, and if you do the buy-in, your high score is not compared against the normal 3 ball game, but instead in a 4 ball score list.

There, I've just exhausted all my pinball history knowledge ;P
