Not sure if this has been suggested yet, and as far as I can see it isn't possible currently, but I'd like to suggest that the wheel art that's in view, but NOT selected, be configurable so that you can set it to a specific alpha value.

In other words, the game that you have selected would show up as normal, and all the wheel art above and below it would be as transparent as you want them to be.

I should point out that I'm not talking about them "fading" out to that transparency, but permanently displayed at that transparency until they were the game selected.

Anyone else have a use for this?

I had a feeling that it might have been suggested before, and the reason is the same as the one given in the thread you listed, which is all the wheel art merging into one when you have all the wheel art.

I was thinking of putting a black stroke of about 3 or pixels around each wheel art, so that the selected on stands out a bit, which I still might do anyway.

It would be great if you could add the transparency option, but looking at another of your recent threads, you've already added the ability to set the size of the un-selected wheel art dependent of the selected one, which goes some way to clearing up the wheel in a similar way.
So Kudos for that.

Now all we need to know is when we can expect this update that everyone's talking about. :)

Just thought I'd add something that I meant to mention the other day.

I was planning on using a gradient as an artwork to fade out the wheel artwork above and below the selected wheel art, and as I was working out what the optimum gap would be for the centre wheel art to show correctly, I noticed that the gap varies depending on whether you move up and down by a single game or left and right to skip to the next letter.

To explain it a bit clearer, the size of the selected game wheel art is smaller after you've used left or right to go to the next/previous letter, than it is if you move up or down to the next game.

I think this is probably a glitch in the code, as I can't see any purposeful reason for it.

BTW, all my wheel art is 400x200, so they're not causing this blip. :)
