So here is the situation. I am running a 3 monitor setup and I have been having nothing but problems so far. and I can't figure out the proper configuration for a successful VP install with 3 monitors.

1. My Setup info is here: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5066&highlight=monitor+setup

2. I am running Windows 7

3. My 40" is the main monitor, DMD is stacked on top of that in the display config, and the Backglass is stacked on that.

4. According to windows the monitors are number 1 for playfield, 2 for DMD and 3 for blackglass.

So the first time I set everything up, even with the latest nvidia drivers I was able to get VP to show the DMD overlay on the playflield (small in the top left corner). At that point I was able to drag the DMD and resize it to the DMD monitor. All was fine until I decided to mess with the resolution setting in the VP settings.

After that point when I would start a VP table, the DMD would show full screen on the playfield and I couldn't drag it anywhere else. I could get it to show a bit on the DMD but it would never permanently move. The second time I tried to drag it, the DMD would disappear and I could just see a black screen with a ball on it only. At this point I decided to try the older 182 drivers with no success. The same stuff would happen.

Ok, so I gave up after a day of messing around and decided to install XP with the 182 drivers to start off. Right off the bat, same stuff was happening and I never had any success. DMD would start off full screen on the playfield and I could not drag or manipulate it. So, once again I gave up after testing different drivers and such.

So here I am with a new fresh install of Windows 7, starting from scratch again and I still am not having success with the DMD. Keep in mind that I do have the correct VPinMAME.dll for all of my testing. I have also set the correct permissions and compatibility. The only time I ever had success was with my very first few attempts on Windows 7 and the latest Nvidia drivers.

Please someone help as I am just about to take a sledge hammer to this thing. I was able to get FP working good but I have had no hope with VP.

lagwagon .. if I'm right I think the DMD should always be displayed on your 3rd screen ..

Cheers,

Lag, DMD has to be on monitor 3. Not sure how it works with Windows 7 but thats how it works with XP.

Did you reinstall Visual Pinmame?

The "Always run in full-screen on this display" box should be unchecked.

You can check your settings by starting the installation program and selecting the Setup Paths option.

Full screen should be unchecked? Why is this? Also, yes I reinstalled Visual Pinmame a few times during my processes.

When I checked this box during an install it displayed the DMD in full screen when playing a VPM table and I was unable to move or resize.
Reinstalling with the box unchecked solved the problem.

Hope this helps.

Well that did the trick. Thanks to all for you help. I am very glad to have this working in Windows 7.

Now if I can figure out why its not saving the DMD location and only saving the DMD size. Anyone have ideas on this?
