I'm thinking about this too for a 27in tube replacement in my cab (always blurry for configurations/etc). I would have to sacrifice a few vertical inches to go with a 24in 16:9 LCD, but now I'm wondering if I go up to a larger LCD and go with a vertical monitor arrangement. hmmm

Thanks guys for the replies. I ended up getting the vizio and now just waiting for my buddy to stop by and help me mount it. I picked up a lcd mount arm which will work nicely I think.......Will post pics soon...Thanks:itsme:

Well.....Finally got my LCD installed using a lcd mount I got off ebay and I have to say it fits perfect and now off to order my bezel decal and I will be all set.......
Hmm, I have a 27in flat tube tv in in my cabinet right now, but I've been thinking about going LCD. I'm thinking that this might be a good fit. Might even be able to do the 32" if decased perhaps... Just gotta save up the $300 now. My fiance is currently laid off from her job and we are getting married on the 10th of Jan. So, it's gonna have to wait.

But we already have a 65" and a 40". If I can find one on sale within the next couple days I may be able to talk her into letting me get one as I just got $100 that I wasn't expecting. I checked out a couple other 26" screens and I think in my cabinet they would look funny unless I did a self-rotating setup in my cabinet...
Congratulations on getting married! Have fun on the Honeymoon! ;)

You guys read my mind. I want to be able to configure my cabinet in-place. Pulling the computer every time I work on it is a pain. It also requires a desk workstation that takes up space.
I think I will grab the old measuring tape and head to a few stores. Might lose a few vertical inches and gain a few horizontals.
Well, I picked up my 26" LCD to replace my 27" tube in my cabinet. I have the new HS running on it right now and it looks great. I was afraid that it would look funny in the cabinet, however I am going to be adding a 7" LCD screen below the main screen. The 7" is going to have CP viewer or something running on it. Not quite sure yet... I need to modify my cabinet to make a backplate for the LCD to connect to.

can you post a pic of your cab?
can you post a pic of your cab? These pics are all before the LCD... At the time I was using a 27" flat tube SDTV.

I just did a test fit of the LCD yesterday and I don't have any pics of the cabinet right now as it is in pieces and going through a complete re-build. I'm using a small low profile wall bracket for the LCD screen. I was hoping to do a rotating design, but the LCD is too big to rotate while inside the cabinet. :(
Right now I'm looking for decent reasonably priced small 7-10" LCD that is going to be installed under the new LCD. Sortta like the Global VR Justice League cabinet (http://www.globalvr.com/products_jl_std.html).
Cabinet is going to get a fresh paint job and hopefully new art in the near future.

Dazz, I myself have that same problem, the 26" fits perfectly, but vertically no dice. I would have to extend the lcd out of the cab to make it vertical ... but I could live with the akwardness for the vert games, I may just make an entire new cab just for those, or just a new cp and mount a tv on the wall vertically, just out of curiosity, will HS even function vertically?
Does anyone know of a rotating mount or bracket that can be used to turn the LCD/monitor 90degrees for vert games?
Edit...
here are a few

I could get my LCD to fit vertically in my cab without a problem. However, I would rather keep it horizontal and would like to figure a way to get it to rotate vertically for pinball games.

yeah, it sounds like we have a bit of the same problem. I actually can get it to fit vertically, but I really want it to rotate. My favorite games are shmups, and the best way to play is vert, I may have to do quite a bit of re-construction to make it happen.

I found this info online.......Pretty cool idea....I never even thought about installing a rotating lcd screen so you could play hyperpin.......dang.....I just finished up my cab too..lol. O well.....Seems to me this idea won't work for most as there's not enough space to spin the lcd in place. I think if you could come up with a way to pull the lcd towards you....spin it vertical and push it back into place......that would be the way to go........
