View Full Version : STARTING Today - New themes will NOT be approved.
Attention theme creators and theme approval team:
Starting today no new themes should be approved. We are starting a project to re-package all themes using the new .zip format that is coming with the next version of HyperSpin.
Once we get current themes updated we can then start re-packaging new incoming themes before they are approved.
Theme creators can still upload themes, but DO NOT APPROVE any new or existing themes until further notice.

Hi Dazz,
Does this mean the next version of Hyperspin is getting close? or is this just a required step?
I am really looking forward to the next release.
Cheers,
Harry
Bill still has quite a bit of work to get done on the next version oh HyperSpin. It will be ready when he's ready to release it. Heck, I haven't even been able to get a version from him so I can start testing it.
I think this was just a required step for us right now. We needed to stop the theme approvals because we are working on re-packaging all the current themes. With more and more themes being uploaded on a daily basis it is hard for us to keep track while new themes are being approved.

I hate to be a bit of a pest here really but since the all the current themes have already been moved over to the new format I don't really see the harm in allowing people to submit themes in the old format again. With this post we all thought the new version was only a few weeks away but we've now gone 2 months without any new themes.... I don't want to rush BBB as I've got no problem waiting for what I know will be an awesome new version of Hyperspin. At the same time however I'm famished for new themes! hehe
Could the "new" themes in the old format maybe be put into some new directory - to be converted to the new format post release or something? Maybe even a download at your own risk area of unapproved themes if the admins are busy with the new version. *shrug* I've got no problem waiting another month or more for the new version of Hyperspin but I don't see why we can't share our new themes in the meantime.
- my 2 cents
This thread was just a notice that the Downloads section would be taken off line at any given time without notice. We had to do this to keep any new themes coming in as we are working on the new format. This was done to keep themes from getting mixed up as all themes uploaded on the site all fall into the same folder and was causing confusion with the zip theme project.
As soon as the new downloads section comes back up... No themes using the old format will be approved. If you've created a theme; you will need to use the new format before uploading it. We will be releasing official documentation on how to properly zip a theme using the new format shortly.
The release isn't that much far off...
