I downloaded the torrent which should have everything current except some newer themes correct? My question is are new themes being added to the download section on a regular basis and if so how do you keep track of what you have already and what's new? Also with so many people working on themes how do you decide what is added to the official download section especially if there are more than one themes for a single game or system? By vote? I know it has gotten pretty messy with vpinball having so many releases and multiple author releases.

I guess I'm just asking what is the best way to stay current and organized?

well we are only asking for user to upload thier theme once they are completly done.. This hasnt been the case as some of our uploaders are choosing to mdify thoer themes... We are working on that... My solution is to not approve it. Tho its not realistic. Still this does cause headaches. Also the WIKI is supposed to be updated with WIP's.. That really hasnt got too far off the ground we really need someone to really take charge on that.

Also as far as the themes go... I find myself building a theme on a whim.... It get sone in about an hour and there is no real need to announce it.. And If I do announcment it then get side tracked on a diffrent project I feel commited.

So.... Its a catch 22.

With over 3,500 mame themes to go and out handfull of creaters Im not sure this will be a huge issue very soon.

but if you have ideas we are all ears

I think the theme designers should announce them first like it looks like everyone is doing that way they can get feed back and tweak them. But then it comes down to personal preference....I guess I'm thinking there should be ONLY one theme per game and this them should be voted as the "one" by the masses or just use the first one that is submitted. But anyhow as far a complete theme download set it should only include one theme per game and if other themes are created for the same games they should be made available (alphabetically) separately. That way you can download a complete organized theme set without tons of duplicates and then you could go to the other section to look at the other thems that are available for a certain game and decide whether you want to keep the one you have or go with one of the others available based on your own personal taste.

This is just such a great frontend I wouldn't want to see things get disorganized right off the bat. I give a lot of credit to all of you with the skills and knowledge to put this together and to those that have contributed such great themes and ideas.
