you should post a request at a big VG site like kotaku or joystiq - get a lot more coverage.
Sorry to hear that. Hope you're cats are ok.
Did you have insurance? chances are the guys who broke in wouldnt hang onto the gear.

It says the last time you were logged in was on 01/06. I'll let you know if the status changes.
Check out this thread. http://forum.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?t=569973 - The last post has some phone numbers that may be helpful. Do you have free calling to the US? I called two of the suggested numbers, both of which seemed legitimate.
Best of luck.

Sorry to hear what happened......I did some checking and found this info and thought I would pass it on........Might help some........
Don't let Microsoft screw you around. Of course it can be tracked, it just of course requires the thief to be stupid enough to actually connect your system to their internet connection and access your profile.
It is in Microsoft's best financial interest to ensure that you never get your system back, so that you will go and buy another one (their standard policy is just to disable your system's ability to access XBox Live, which is actually counter-productive if you want to track the thief). After having to deal with low level customer service for a while, I got the predictable manager who gave me the same old lines of that (IP tracking) is impossible to do. So I said I know that is the stock line he is supposed to give people to get them to go away, and he then told me fine he will escalate it to Corporate. Needless to say it turned out that was a flat out lie, because I called back later and spoke with another manager who said these issues never get escalated on their end, it is impossible yadda yadda. In fact we got into a long very heated argument on the issue.
So I ended up making repeated calls directly to the Microsoft Corporate offices(1-425-882-8080) myself. After a couple hours of frustrating automated systems that literally route you to nonexistant lines, and operators that just transfer you back to base level customer service, I managed to get ahold of a new girl who was actually willing to listen to me. After some research on her end, she found me the number for the Microsoft Corporation Security Department (1-425-706-0000). A lovely woman there said of course they can help me track the IP and hooked me up with more info, the Microsoft Online Services Legal Request Hotline (1-425-722-1299, that number is for police department requests, not for civilian customer service) and a fax number for the police to send the subpoena to (1-425-708-0096). Of course the police should include all necessary contact information for both you and them and include your gamertag, system serial number, and any other information they feel would be useful.

That is bullshit, guys. Yeah, contact Microsoft and Sony and get the police to work with them. They can flag your system serial number (even if they deleted your account) so if that POS ever signs online with it, they can get their ISP. From there, the police can get their address from the ISP. I've read a story about a thief getting busted like that though.
Keep in mind that most theft is done by someone you know. Most likely someone who knew what kind of valuables you had. Perhaps a neighbor. I read a story about a guy who found a thief by using his Xbox controller to narrow down which dorm room the guy was in. If they left a controller behind that's still sync'd with your console, take a slow drive around the neighborhood and try to connect. It's worth a shot.

What in the F*CK?!
that sucks man! I'll keep my eye out for your account xbox live..
I am glad to hear that your all ok...

Microsoft can give you the IP addy if they connect with it, if anyone gives you the run-around, remind them that your credit card and personal info is attached per their policies, and that failure to report fraud will land them personally in big trouble on a number of fronts.
Because you're notifying them that your console is stolen, and they now have your personal information open to a theif, who could use it to commit fraud. If Microsoft does not address it, and comply with law agencies need for the info, then they are essentially an accomplice.
Once you make those statements, you'll find yourself elevated quickly, and someone will give either your or your local police dept the IP addy.
From there, it's cake. IP addy will lead to someone's house, and either they'll be the theif, or they'll know the theif and quickly cough up the name.

Most of the problem is not Microsoft policy, it's their training and supervision (and support) of their staff. MS is fully aware they have a responsibility to report and assist in cases of theft (great point Gatt9) and they have done so, I've read a couple of news articles. This does not excuse their role in not properly training their phone reps to quickly dispatch the caller to the right contact person for this. As it is, people don't know who to talk to, so they end up calling the xbox support line and really, this has nothing to do with that. Not the fault of the users, again this needs to be clear for their staff and the clients.
SOSFX: I'm really sorry to hear you went through something like this. Not right and I hope the kittens are ok.

Hi all I am back!!
Update time, some of you may find this shocking even more so if you live in the uk!
So you all know what happened and the police in London are real busy most of the time to busy to help a nobody like me.
It turns out that I was broken into at 10:30 am (I will let you know how I know that in a bit ) on the Thursday.
The police didn’t show up until the Friday :hmpf: so that night I had too sleep on the sofa to insure that they didn’t come back and if they did then they would have got a surprise :bandit:
(Must say damm cold without glass in a door)
got up the next day was told by the csi guys that there’s not much chance of catching anyone as there was no witness and no finger prints as they had used gloves. That was it they was off :(
As you can imagine I wasn’t very happy with that, it had been snowing the last few days and I could see the footprints.
Just one guy had come over the back fence landed onto the rabbit hutch and broke it walked to the back door of the garage (my arcade) and then went over to the back doors of the house and when through toughened double glazed glass (still finding bits of glass around the house now!!)took two 30 GB video ipods then took the better half’s laptop, satnav and took a bag with a few xmas gifts in for the kids at this point they must of heard a noise (the cats) and thought that there was someone in.
now this is where you think that they would got the hell out of there, right, oh no they went right to the kitchen and picked up the biggest chopping knife that we own and went up stairs with it to see who was up there (I know this because that’s where we found the knife ).
See the cats I suppose that’s when the small one got a kick and the carried on to find the PS3 60 GB Xbox 360, PSP, DS, internet router, so not a bad bag of swag for them. But all could be replaced, however they also got the all of the gold and things that can’t be replaced that have a real sentimental value.
I was looking at the prints the next morning and had the idea that these print could lead me to where they went .
ok so what I did was take a photo of the footprint in the snow and then followed the track I could see the direction that they went dropped the trail a few times but then found it again (CSI style)it went in the direction of the A13 (a road near me ) so they was on foot. I was near a paper shop and cab office so I went in asking if anyone had came in and tried to sell them anything, and with luck the cab office picked up 3 boys (age around 25ish) 2 white and 1 black (they tried to sell my xbox to him) they took a cab to canning town. I got the drivers number and time that he picked them up 11:00 (or there about because that’s when he picked them up) and then tried to get a hold of him.
went to canning town to pick up where they got out and find the trail again ... no luck
btw they left the pad for the xbox ,so I took it with me as it was still linked to the console and them things work for around 10 meters ish
so I when round and checked (both have been used according to MS and Sony )
but then Jodie (my better half) called me and told me that the police was at home and I had to come back
turns out that the old bill was aware of some suspects in the area and they followed it up ,section 18 or something and told me to stay at home.
next thing you know they called us down to the station and ask us to id some bits most of our stuff was gone but Jodie see an earring that was hers :)
they asked if she was sure and how she knows it is hers, she was wearing the other one in the top of her ear (she has had the pair since she was 11) she only wears one at the top of her ear.
So the prints at the back door in the snow and the earring in there house and the cctv from the cab office and a line up for the cab driver to pick them out that would do it you would think
But CPS DIDN’T think so, so they are out and have got away with it !!!! any other country they would have gone down
Oh and another house has just been robbed 5 mins away same thing back door smashed and knife left on the side upstairs
Man.. Sorry to hear about your story. The same thing would happen in Canada.
Years ago, my dad was robbed at gunpoint in his store. The gas station down the road was robbed 15 minutes later, and the gas station robbery was videotaped. The police would not let my dad watch the tape, or help in the investigation, and they never caught the guy.
My sisters home was broken into in the middle of the night when she was home. Her and her husband stayed in the bedroom and held the door closed while their house was ransacked. The next day, the police acted like they could care less. They have 'better' things to do I guess :(
It sounds like these guys might be dangerous.. (Looking for and carrying a knife in both homes, and kicking animals). Be careful with your investigation.

Heh- my dad's guard dog (a Rhodesian Ridgeback) is named Kimber (for that reason).
Nice. I'm more of an old fashioned man myself- dual Ruger Vaqueros and a Remington 870 Express that makes a really nice club once it runs out of ammo.

Dude, the whole time I was reading that it was like a sweet Hardy Boys novel- except for the getting away part. The UK, closely followed by Canada, is the last place I wanna live after reading constantly stories like this.
