Here is my Star Wars themed cab I built in 2007, it took about 6 months to strip and refinish everything,
including the side art, bezel and marquee.
The side art is Star Wars Posters from a SW Poster book I found at Barnes and Noble some time ago.

I chose an x-arcade cp, because at the time I did not know
I had the skill to build one myself, and it hooks into my xbox 1
and dreamcast pretty seemlessly...

hope you enjoy,

BTW I dont have a current pic with the bezel installed, it looks snazzy though!

Nice, if you don't plan on building a cp one day then you should see if you can decorate the tankstick to match. What are you using for a monitor?

SW Cab Monitor= 26" Admiral TV... I know, I know, it's a crappy tv, but it fit almost perfectly and it's all I had at the time.
It's great to play casually on, but not usually for more than half an hour.

Thanks for the advise about decorating (new overlay for the cp) that's a pretty good idea,
seeing how I put all that work into it and then put a mis-matched cp on the cab.
Any ideas about the art... any links or pics?

Here is a b&n link to the posterbook I used for the side art

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?r=1&ISBN=9780811848831&ourl=Star-Wars-Poster-Book%2FStephen-Sansweet&cm_mmc=Google%20Product%20Listing%20Ads-_-k232270-_-j12871747k232270-_-Primary&IF=N

I used mod-podge (got it at hobby lobby) to glue it on, I painted it on with a paintbrush on the cab then on the poster,
placed the poster on the cab, then squeedgied the bubbles out of the mod-podge out from behind the poster,
when I was completely finished with all of the posters on one side of the cab, I then painted another layer of mod-podge over all of the posters,
then let it dry over night, it looks funny going on because mod-podge is white, but drys clear.

Curious as to how smooth the side panels are once finished in that manner. Like the art for the marquee.

the sides are very smooth given that it's paper glued to wood, the last layer of mod-podge actually smooths out the whole operation.

that looks pretty cool - I like that you maintained the layout of the original cab art too with the stripes.

how about a nice scan of that marquee?? (the slither one) for a theme?
