Bartop w.i.p.

When I built my Pincab, I ran out of room in the basement, so I had to pull apart my full size 2 player + trackball / 26" Tube TV mame machine. :( Was sad to pull apart all that work from 4 years ago.

I started working on a bartop unit with my old components a few months ago and got sidetracked for awhile, but I am now back on track!

A couple of Questions:

1. Will my pc be powerful enough?

- P4 3ghz / 1GB ram / Ati X800 pro

2. I made my control panel with 4 buttons (tough decision due to space). Should I remake the control panel with 6 buttons? (I don't play many Street Fighter type games).

3. I hate my 4-way / 8-way switch on my cheap joystick. I have heard that the U360 is good for both 4-way and 8-way games. Can you guys confirm that Donkey Kong and Pacman work nicely with this joystick? (don't get stuck on the ladders in DK etc...)

4. I have not yet installed HS. Should I wait for the new update to come out, or should I install the old version now and update?

5. Any other suggestions?

I'm debating about building one of these also.... My main cab is in the basement, but I think it would be cool to have one of these mounted on a lazy susan and placed on my coffee table in the living room.

what are you doing for sideart ?
plus you will need at least 2gb ram for hyperspin to run nice, even if you don't play sf games 6 buttons gives you 3 across for games like nba jam and if i where you i would wait for the update will save double work
