OK, finally got the design worked out on my Arcade Cabinet and Control Panel. The CP took a lot longer than expected, but only because I was very anal about the details. It's not wired up yet, but that's coming soon.

Below is the art I designed for the Control Panel.

Below is the art I designed for the Marquee.

My cabinet is being built to house a 32" LCD screen. I designed everything in AutoCAD and created cutting layouts so that you can get everything out of three pieces of MDF. I will upload these soon so you can see what I have in mind. I don't mind sharing these if someone is planning on building a similar cab. The CP is also laid out in AutoCAD, with separate cut patterns for the backside to accommodate the Trackball and different controllers.

I'd appreciate any feedback.

Here's the arcade pieced together. I've got a 10" sub in the bottom (that's the air tube sticking out the bottom). More pics to come.

I have Autocad files for everything if anyone is interested. They include the cut plans to build the cabinet I designed.

i also have photoshop files that match the CP layout that someone can use to design their own CP artwork.

Once I'm done, I should have a pretty large collection of files that will help anyone build their own cabinet, regardless of skill level (because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing when I started).

I will also have photoshop template files for the artwork on the side.

Attached is an example of the autocad files I put together. I have separate files for the drill holes, the router templates, etc.

Here's the 2 cutting templates. You can get everything out of 2 4'x8' sheets of plywood/MDF.

That looks really nice man. Can't wait to see the finished product.
I'm just getting to grips with the FE before constructing a CP so would love any plans you can share dannyboy101010atyahoodotcom.

One question I have and have seen on many of these control panels is the third joystick and buttons. I used to play a lot of golden tee in the pubs and often, people would rub the trackball so hard that hands would hit the glass. Do you have any issues at all with the third joystick getting in the way (assuming you play golden tee at all). Also, I am in two minds whether to get a 4/8 way switiching joystick instead of adding a third one for only 4 way games. Read somewhere that you can configure the switchers to be 4 or 8 way depending on what rom is loaded....
Any suggestions or after thoughts on your CP you wish you'd done differently?

My third joystick is offset so that you can play Golden Tee or anything else using the trackball and it won't interfere. I actually thought alot about that. The spacing seems to be fine.

Getting close now. Redid the artwork for the marquee and got the monitor bezel artwork done. All that's really left at this point is some cleanup work on the outside, and A LOT of configuring within Hyperspin.

Seabass... I am in love with this cabinet and overall design... I love the low profile depth being half of most cabinets. This is probably my single favorite design I have ever seen. Not to mention that your artwork is astounding. Major congrats!!!
