mame game list creation

when you guys/gals create your mame game lists, do you include the clones?
is it recommended to keep clones in and later remove them individually from the game list.

i ask because my choplifter only works on the clone version, and some themes i downloaded didnt show up untill i remade my list with clones on.

any thoughts?

I was wondering myself is there a quick solution to make the themes show with all versions of a game, some games like pang have about 10 different romsets

Umm... themes work for whatever rom you want them to work on. Choplifter is in no way limited to the clone version. All you have to do is rename the files. If you want the choplifter theme to display for a rom called: "chplftrsex" then just rename the artwork and theme files to chplftrsex and you're off to the races.

If you want the same theme to show up for multiple games - just copy the files and rename them to the different versions of the rom. Personally I only want 1 version of each game to show up.... I don't see why I need 10 versions of a game to be displayed. It kind of takes away from the user friendly aspect of a front end if you show the same game 10 times.
